Tyre Changing Tool

Hello everyone,

I'm planning to buy this:
http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Porta…

However, there is only one review and it is a bad one. It is hard to based a decision on ONE and ONLY one review. I'm keeping an open mind on this.

Has anyone had experience with this tyre changing tool? Or suggest any other tools from a different store?

Just one question…how many tyres do you change per day/week/month?

If it's like every other SCA item I've purchased, you could pretty much melt the steel on your toast over some tomato for a delicious snack, it's rather cheesy!

The other thing to remember about going old school with tyres, is that after you've changed them you still have to balance them.

How many times are we supposed to rotate our tyres? The answer I believe is every 6 months or year. So that's 4 tyres on and off a year or half yearly.

That's assuming one takes car maintenance to heart.

Most people sadly, don't even pump their tyres with air though.

AFAIK, doesn't 'rotate' simply mean switch the whole wheels across F/R & L/R, no need whatsoever to remove tyres from rims for that??? If you're gonna do that at home too you're also gonna need 4x car stands & likely a good hydraulic trolley jack…or your own hoist, which is going from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Mine get done at each service, and no tyre beads are harmed in the process, I can assure you… ;)

One area of life that's better left to the trade. Pay them your money, save yourself some grief.

  • Price dropped to $70. Worth it now?

    • You need a balancing machine to make it worth while.

      • only cost about $10 to balance rather than $20 for balance + fitting.

It will break even at first use. Won't it?

and you get savings from buying tyres online.

  • Probably needs to be mounted onto something sturdy.

Guys complaint is the bead breaker is crap. If you have standard tyres this might not be an issue

  • people who need to break beads on tyres dont come here and dont buy tools from supercheat

    the end

    dont buy this
