Opinion with going from Android/iPhone to Windows Phone

I currently have the HTC One M7 and strongly considering jumping over to the Nokia Lumia 930. What drew my attention is that Telstra is offering free JBL wireless charging speaker with the 930 and it got me thinking about trying out a Windows Phone which is something different.

For about 5 years I was using iPhone from the original 2G up until the iPhone 5 and then transitioned to the HTC M7 and never look back. The only downside is that I had to abandon all the $2k+ worth of apps I had spent over the years. I know Windows Phone doesn't have an impressive app ecosystem unlike Google or Apple, but apps isn't a big deal to me today. I only mainly use WhatsApp and Facebook and if I need to desperately access any Android apps I have a Galaxy Note 3 for my work phone.

Just wondering if there is anyone who has switched over to Windows Phone from Android? Or even iPhone? What's your opinion on the transition?

You spent $2k on apps? I would not look at anything else for next 10 Yes because investment in apps. Just curious what did you buy.

    • Just game, GPS apps and remote management software.

I haven't gone back to iPhone and don't see the need to anymore or need to access the apps as most of them have free alternatives on Android.

  • The best Nokia phone is the 5110, my GF dad still use it, it's funny as!.. I had the Nokia Lumia 1020 for 3months, fantastic camera, Win8 sucks, silly UI and boring! bulky phone. If you want a Nokia, wait for the Windows/Android fusion version to come out. I'm very happy with my Xperia Z1.
