  • Most of the travel times are around 30+ hours. But yeah its cheap.

    • I found 22 hours travel times too

      • Thats why i said "Most of them" and plus i said its cheap. Take Singapore airlines and you'll at your home in 15 hours but it'll cost you around $1000.

Cheap flights yes but a long flight to Abu Dhabi and a long wait there where we might sleep and miss our flights. Do they have Burger King in Abu Dhabi airport that provides free internet?

    • +2

No, but they do have complimentary massage parlours :D

    • +8

Why did you use the word 'flight'?
The only certainty I can see, at this price, is 'kayak'.

      • +9

Paddle over to India in your Kayak. The $600 is to bribe border patrol.

  • I found MEL-HYD for $589.

Is it possible to book return to Abu Dhabi for that price (or cheaper)? When I search to AUH it suddenly goes well over $1000 (even for the same dates).

    • You can cancel your onwards journey once you reach Abu Dhabi if you have valid visa to stay in Abu Dhabi?

      • Check fare rules but you run the risk of them cancelling the return leg.

      • Not 100% sure on this, but I seem to recall if you miss one of the flights, the rest of the itinerary gets cancelled. i.e. you won't be able to come back.

Maybe you can try a multi-city booking with a long stopover in AUH and think of it as a quick 'free' return trip to India from AUH at some point.

    • what dates ?

    • Title updated to include Melbourne. Thanks

Are you trying to compare a low cost carrier to one of the best rates airlines?

Good if you want to go Kochi or a couple of other south Indian cities AirAsia flies to. But for major capital cities, this Eitihad deal has to be the lowest currently.
We are on OZB, correct! But I'd still pay $100 more anyday if I could upgrade from AirAsia to Eitihad (mind you if you added food + luggage to your AirAsia deal, it might come very close to Eitihad price anyway!). Current Eitihad fares have a higher discount and thus a bigger bargain!

@Sydneyian: Lol, YOU truly need to get your "basics" right.

        • Definitely return mate! Click on the link and see for yourself. The link does a search for Hyderabad. I updated that to Mumbai and I get $626 as the cheapest return fare!

          @Sydneyian:
          Funny guy!!

    • ofcourse public transport will be way cheaper as compared to chauffeured Limo…

If anyone finds anything cheap around christmas can they please post! :D

    • -2

why don't you look yourself ?

        • -2

Yes, but you have to put in to the COMMUNITY BEFORE you take FROM it! How about look yourself then post your best results.

        • +3

@frazel: no because if you understand the context of this post (which very little do here) it says, if anyone finds any other than me post it, Hence anyone other then myself. People aren't very switched on here unfortunately. The peeps usually negging on ozbargain haven't ever posted a single deal! Including yourself btw!

  • 600-700$ for return fare is superb! I agree!

  • +4

For $900 you can fly on Malaysia Airlines and save around 30 hours of travel time. Does anyone value their time (particularly their holiday time) at less than $10/hour?

      • +3

MH17 was in the wrong place at the wrong time and the subject of criminal action. Other airlines (despite their denials) used the same route. SQ321 from London to Singapore for example, a day before the attack.

        • -2

I was talking about the one that went missing 3 months ago

        • Try convincing your paranoid mother with this fact…

Just saying, cos I tried last night over the phone.
          Tried.

I think you need put the title that the currency in USD , and be aware with currency conversion from your credit card, it might additional surcharge from 3-5%, for 28 degree card holder , the card provider still making money from the currency conversion around 0.5% - 2.5%.

    • +1

If you care to click on OP's link currency is AUD not USD

      • -1

so if you click to AUD, the price never been start with aud $600, and if you take account the currency conversion, then you will get more than that. I just want to point u guys the final figure is more than AUD $600, as the currency is different, the amount would be different!!!!

        • I found under $600 AUD quite easily. Just click to redirect to travel.com.au after searching. Prices are clearly in AUD.

        • -1

do u know travel.com.au charge you with booking fees? can you just take some screen shot rather than arguing in here.

        • -2

          @zerocritical:

if you want edit something, edit properly. please visit travel.com.au website directly then you will understand what is booking fee.

          http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/51732/24356/screen_shot…

        • -1

          @joannatan:

I fail to understand where you are looking at.. my screenshot clearly shows 0 booking fee..

Anyway, I don't understand what you are cribbing about. Talking to you is like banging our own head on the wall..

          I'm out of here!!

        • -1

@zerocritical: I told you any booking made via travel.com.au will incur booking fee, you take screen shot that you edited by change the booking fee to be $0.

I told you from beginning, if you can read and understand, that the title is misleading, as the price in USD, if you convert to AUD and other cost associate the price would be above A$600, so no starting price $600, that is my point.

Shame on you, for this purpose you can't be honest. Read on travel.com.au t&C (http://www.travel.com.au/info/booking-fees) it said already there is booking fee. SHAME ON YOU!!!

          Asia / Pacific Airline Reservation
          Asia $14.95 per booking
Pacific Airline Reservation $14.95 per booking

        • @joannatan:

Unlike you, I've better things to do in life than editing a screenshot and wasting my time.

By the way, why the hell are you directly going to travel.com.au when this deal is about booking it via kayak? for your kindest information, going via kayak shows booking fee as 0.

NOW DO EVERYONE A FAVOR AND FIND SOME WORK FOR YOURSELF!!

        • -1

@zerocritical: hahaha you should shame your self giving wrong information but still arguing :)

  • seems like its only november. Nothing in August/Sep. Absolute steal if you want to travel in nov and come back the same month

  • I saw this on kayak last night and was really tempted. When I cross checked with the airlines website, the fare seemed to be oneway.. so I had a doubt what happens if we book the cheap ticket and finally when boarding we are asked to pay more..any idea if it could happen.

  • Hmmm. Kayak shows one price and then redirects to Airlines website which is showing a much higher price. This is for a different route btw

    • That's common. Kayak caches results, only checks real-time when you divert to the airline.

  • spend the 9 hours stopover sightseeing Abu Dhabi (eg. ferraris, lambos)

  • +1

I suggest holiday makers stopover in Abu Dhabi for two nights if the fare rule allows. They offer competitive priced hotels.

  • +1

For all those people who still have doubts that this is a one way fare, please also check the link from lastminute.com.au. It is for a return fare.

    http://www.lastminute.com.au/international-flights/etihad-ai…

Would love to make use of this deal but doesn't work for the dates I want to go to India and the travel times are longer. But will be useful for somebody.

Absolute steal at this price for a quality airline.

  • Not sure about Etihad, but I've done Emirates on this route (well, via Dubai, but close enough) and they gave us a free night hotel stay as the layover was overnight. Very nice touch.

  • Does anyone know when this deal ends? Trying to figure out some things before booking. Really wish return to Abu Dhabi was the same price!

    Is India even safe?

    • +1

Seriously, I don't know why people easily vote down a genuine question like this! I'd like to know the situation in India as well because we heard a lot of horror stories like women getting gang raped etc. Isn't it normal to ask this question??? Is it offensive to pop the question?

  • +10

i just got back from India yesterday and yes its safe, though i am a guy. for a girl it might be different especially if she is white. the food in India is nothing short of amazing. going through curry withdrawal symptoms at the moment. at this price should go back just for the food. India is very congested though. 1.2 billion people always on the go.

    • For white people, I would not suggest going by yourself. Only go if you have a Indian friend to go with you who knows where you should go or not. Being an Indian myself, I can tell you its not a safe country.
