Boost $2 SIM with $40 Preloaded credit: what's the deal & how do I get me mitts on them again in Adelaide?

I expect quite a few of you bargain savvy lot know what I'm talking about but for those that don't: Boost sometimes sends out "special" SIM starter kits to retailers that cost $2 but come with $40 credit already on the account. They're clearly marked to indicate this on the packaging, it isn't stores selling $40 starter packs at a discount.

So this is surely the best value Boost SIM to buy.

The problem is they aren't a regular thing - sometimes they're available, more often they're not. I've talked to staff at Coles and Allphones and from what they say it's up to Boost who gets them and when and they also claimed to have nobody to call at Boost to enquire about it even - even Coles apparently doesn't have a Boost sales rep (a rather curious situation but I digress).

That's of course when the staff have any idea of what I'm talking about: a lot of the time I find myself having to explain what I'm looking for which is kinda a PITA LOL.

Anyone know any information about these and where to purchase them in Adelaide ATM (if indeed you can).

I'll have to stock up on at least 10 I reckon next time I come across them … not that the nosey parker gummint makes this convenient as yes, you gotta fill in multiple forms in case your a terrist drug dealer. At least I hope that's why I'm filling in the forms :|

This deal if it ever existed would of been the best deal ever to hit Ozbargain.

If it ever happened, the ozbargainers would of snapped it up.

  • Well the deal existed and has existed for quite some time. I know this because I have purchased these SIM starter packs and talked to retail staff about them. Maybe I could've phrased my post better but I wasn't intending to ascertain if it actually existed, just get more information about it.

    • Are you sure it wasn't $20 starter kit with $40 credit?
