  • Does it include GST in invoice? I'm going to claim 10% at TRS.

Yes, you will received an invoice with DSE ABN number and GST value. Happy shopping!

Are you sure, it includes Gst ?

        • +1

Why wouldn't it? This is Dick Smith, they're operating within the country and they're selling the product within the country, so they have to include GST unless it's otherwise stated.

That is a good price for the new Tab 8.4 - although funny how non-Apple brands are starting to come close to iPad prices. I notice the video on the DS page is for the 10" version - but both have the same 2560x1600 resolution.

A cheaper option (same size, slightly lower specs) is the LG 8.4" V500 tablet (1920x1200 screen)

Harvey Norman have it for $298 (Aussie stock)
    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/computers-tablets/ipads-table…

$257-$309 (mix of grey imports and genuine Aussie stock)

  • Cheapest price for this I've seen so far is 405 for grey stock. Tried officeworks pricematch but as it is coupon code they don't bite unfortunately :p Kogan has it cheap on their site (not on eBay yet, not sure if grey) - tempted to wait for a Kogan deal but this is good for Aussie stock.

It may be the best tablet out at the moment but its over priced even with the discount. I'll wait for the nexus 8 which should be superior is all aspects including price.

    • +1

Possibly superior but generally no optinon to add more storage via micro sd card.
I just picked up the 32gb version. I've already got the LG 8.4 but with only 16gb, I've run out of memory (mostly taken up with Zinio magazines)

      • i thought the LG 8.4 has a microsd slot

        • It does, and if I had to have a tablet today it would be what I'd choose as I don't warrant the slight improvements of the tab s to equate with the double in price. As for the nexus 8's most likely absent micro sd option this can be over come with a otg flash drive.

        • @QuickdraW: yeah that's why I don't get why bigAloz bought a new 32gb tab s 8 . 4 cos he ran out of space

        • @QuickdraW:

I don't warrant the slight improvements of the tab s to equate with the double in price.

It's not even close to double the price.

        • @astarman:

Because you can't install the zinio magazines to the micro sd card.

The LG is a nice tablet but it's not smooth in it's operation. There is always a hesitation even when unlocking the tablet.

Not a bad first up effort by LG but plenty of room for improvement

  • I'd personally prefer the nvidia shield tablet, even though it has lower res/smaller screen, it's the fastest android tab available at the moment, pretty much slaughters any other android tab in performance. Even the next nexus is supposed to be using the tegra k. This is a great price for this tab, it's a pity Samsung never put a faster processor/gpu, especially with the typical price.

      that amoled screen though..

any news on the shield? its a pretty awesome tablet from what i see. front facing speakers etc

      • Plenty of info out there.

I'm getting my shield tab this week, I can hardly wait to see the performance difference over my old nexus 7. I would have considered the 10.5 inch version of the tab s if I didn't already have an iPad. Comparison between the nvidia shield tab and Tab S here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wSlb0Rrh6U makes the shield an easy choice for me. I suppose it comes down to what you want in a tab at the end of the day. :)

  • I have seen this tablet and it feels premium quality. The screen is fantastic.

  • Is it snapdragon or exynos?

    • Exynos 5 Octa 5420
      CPU Speed: 1.9GHz, 1.3GHz
      CPU Type: Octa-Core

  • VERY TEMPTED!!!!

I'm having trouble in choosing a tablet or phablet (Note 3)

    • To Dial or not to Dial, that is the question!

  • Was ummming and ahhhing and now unfortunately the 16gb bronze wifi has sold out.

    Ah well, next time!

  • Picked up the White 16 GB WIFI with this deal. While $387.16 was a great price I was less than chuffed with how things went with the Dick Smith eBay store. First star track express claim they couldn't deliver the item, even tho I work from home and was here all day. Then when I get back from the post I find the box has both security seals broken and looks worse for wear in general. I'm not interested in returned/refurbished/box open items being sold as brand new. Had no success contacting anybody from the eBay store online or thru the hotline as they kept saying they were very busy after the mega sale. I can guess why… Have bought from them before no worries but seems Dick is being a real dick and is offloading his returns on eBay as new. Ended up going to one of the physical stores and after a bit of BS with the salesman saying the security seals opened during transit (both ends?) and then moving on to saying I opened it and repackaged it wrong I informed him that I wasn't accepting it in this condition and that was the end of it. He begrudgingly got me a new box and after all this wasted time I have what I payed for in the first place. Wont be buying anything from DS eBay again. Cheeky bastards I expected this sort of shady crap maybe from Kogan but don't let the fact that the eBay store shares the name with a major retailer fool you into thinking its above board.
