Well, your proposed new hardware looks sweet. It should be more than powerful enough for the type of games you play, and for quite a long time. The only potential problem would be the price, but if you're willing to pay it…

Honestly, I'd say the CPU is overkill - a new i5 will be enough for all but the really physics- or simulation- heavy games; most AAA titles are primarily GPU-intensive. And the liquid cooler is probably unnecessary - unless you plan on overclocking, Intel stock air cooling is decent.

You can get a better price on the SSD, if the recent deals on OzB are any indication.

Wait, Mini-ITX? I mean, sure, if you're pressed for space, but it's not as expandable as a mid- or full- ATX case. Parts will also be more expensive, and cooling (especially for the GPU) might become an issue.

Actually, if you shop around a bit, you can also find a cheaper R9: http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?price-min=300… This might also apply to other parts.

    • I'd agree the i5 is probably sufficient unless you really think you need the i7. Also the bigger case does make life easier doing the build, upgrading, less cooling issues etc too.

    • I agree, I built my computer recently to play similar games as the op. So far there's nothing I can't play on max or close to maxed out settings. I5 is more than enough and honestly 8gb of ram is good (16 will probably give you headspace for future games but currently 8 is more than enough - TF2 and CSGO etc.). It comes down to how much you want to spend but try not to over spend. Over killing your parts means wasted performance and money if you don't use it.

This may or may not help you decide op but have a read of some of the suggestions and information backing it up by various people.

      Good luck!

    • Oh yea, there's also a little note down the bottom of the partspicker page you may have missed:

Unable to verify the Corsair 250D Mini ITX Tower Case has sufficient mounting depth to support the Corsair H105 73.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler 240mm radiator.

Again, I'd recommend not getting a Mini-ITX case unless you really don't have the space for something bigger.

And if you still want to use liquid cooling, remember you can always add that after the initial build. You can always see how it runs with stock cooling first.

  • From looking at your current specs, as long as you don't care for the ultra high graphics settings, changing your GPU should be enough to run watch dogs

The requirements for watch dogs aren't too demanding, so your current CPU should be able to handle it.

Save your CPU, mobo and RAM for a later upgrade… DDR4 RAM should be coming out soon.

  • I might take the plunge and give it a go and try to play watch dogs with existing hardware.

I see that DDR 4 motherboards have just come out.

Might wait to see how much this drives down the price of current hardware. The ozbargin way haha
