Camelx3 shows it's been this price for some time.

    • yep, and they have been as 129.99 USD a few times only ~7 more, but meh.

  • Old deal on here said it had expired, everything I looked at locally was around $200 upwards delivered for 4TB external drives.

Did you unvote your own deal? lol

      • Yes lol, I've got electric shocks in my fingers, the mouse isn't the best device to use when my hands are like that :)))

Thanks for listing it as AUD not USD :-)
Sick of deals listing in foreign currency..

    • They list in foreign currency as the exchange rate changes daily and some deals are valid for multiple days. Also you will receive a different exchange rate depending on your payment method and provider.

      • True- is that amazon currency conversion (not the best) or by official rate?

        • I think the issue may be that they do not charge you for the item until the item is shipped, therefore the exchange rate has time to change whilst they are preparing the order. Just a guess.

  • I ended up just grabbing a couple of the internal 4TB drives from MSY on the weekend for an extra $10. Unless you actually want to use this as an external drive, then you might as well buy it locally if you just want to rip the drive out of the enclosure.

I almost bought that one too, but then I remembered my last experience with MSY. They expected me to pay return postage for a $20 item that came with a faulty USB cable. I'll not forgot that in a hurry :)))

      • I can only imagine how painful it would be to order online from them or do anything remotely. Luckily I am only a 10 minute drive between a couple of the stores. That is sometimes painful enough lol

  • Thanks, purchased.

  • How long is warranty and does international warranty work with seagate ?? Also do all i need a US to AU power adapter and it will work ???

    • The Seagate Expansion drives I've bought previously, all came with multiple power plugs to suit all of the various markets.

I'm not sure about the warranty. I've not had to do one on an overseas HDD purchase yet, thankfully. :)))

I'd imagine it would be like all of the WD Green drives that I've had issues with in the past.

I contacted WD via their website, after running their diagnostics on the faulty drive and they issued me with the RMA number. Then I posted it to them. Malaysia was the destination in those cases from memory, then I waited for the replacement item to arrive.

Could someone please correct me if I am wrong in assuming this to be the case with Seagate.

Standard price wait til they go for around $150 from time to time.

Lucky I bought the JB HiFi one last week, $160 for local stock.

Price changed down to 129.99. Should update headline price.

  • The drive arrived today, quick service. :)))

    • Did you buy it before it dropped to 129? Mine only shipped a couple days ago…

    • Did you get adapter for AU plug?

  • Yes, I paid the extra $5 or so. Not much, all good, I needed the space urgently :)))

    • yeah fair enough, I bought 5 so wanted them as cheaply as possible… guess its still only 25 bux… but still.

  • wow thats cheap…. might get one for when i need to redo my raid (upgrading to 8 disks from 4)

    edit… $139 now…. dunno :(

    • Just wait… I bet next deal will be 119…in about a month or so…
