    • Is this Life of the product? or is it actually life time maps?

      • For the life of your product, you can download 4 or more full updates of your map of Australia every year. You need a PC with an Internet connection and a MyTomTom account to download map updates.

Confirmed, it is the life of the product.

      • +1

The Life of the product. As determined by TomTom. Whenever they decide to stop supporting this model lifetime map updates will no longer be available.

To activate lifetime maps. A separate email address and TomTom account is needed for each additional TomTom unit you own.

Of the product - and this is an old model, so it's supported life won't be that long.

        • I agree. Got fooled once.

Wish someone told me this before

  • Mate, pls correct the title… its
    TomTom Via 620 6" In Car GPS $149(RRP $249)

  • Bought the GO500 for $160.. Love the capacitive touch screen.. Wouldn't go back to resistive touch screens.

Hi Dealayed, where did you grab TomTom GO 500 for $160 ? It appears to be much more expensive…

      • Dicksmith. Been a few months now. Was on sale plus got extra discount with vouchers.

  • hahah.. RRP is $229 and DSE selling it $249 what a ripoff

  • Is life time maps means update of speed camera maps as well?

    • +1

Lifetime map updates include both traffic cameras and maps updates 4x a year.

Also Tomtom does not do timed school zones like some other GPS units and mobile apps. If you set a warning for schools it will sound the set warn when near all educational institutions not just school zones and the warning will go of 24/7. Not just during the times when school zones are in operation.

  • I just spoke to tomtom customer support, as per their info no TOMTOM GPS is offering free speed camera update. All we need to buy a separate subscription of $49 for speed cameras.

    • I registeded a new TomTom VIA model the other week and it came with premium camera installed. They seem to get updated when updating the TomTom. Even thought it still says to buy premium cameras when updating. Maybe only the first update is free or free for a specific time period only. Hopefully someone can clarify this with what salman679 has posted above would be most helpful.
