  • +1

+1 for the coughing up blood
    Accurately depicts my current actions

    • +2

      it might be a tumour

      • It's not a tuna!!
        ;)

  • Still want HTC One M8, just costs a bit more… Damn :(

  • Mine fron Kogan will arrive this week, I believe!

    • Mine is not even mark as post on ebay yet.

      • neither has mine :/

  • +1

    SIgh… black or white?

    • I reckon black is a better colour, easier to keep clean and easy to see. It's worth the extra $3 I reckon. Such a good price for the s5 though.

    • i have the white one but i reckon black looks better but doesn't really matter you gonna chuck a case on anyways

    • +3

Doesn't matter if its black or white.

  • +5

Flagship phones don't seem to hold as much value as they used to. Imagine how much blood you'd be coughing up if you paid around $800 for this when it was released.

    • +1

Not that I think it a flagship phone, but I was best pleased that my 2 year old Galaxy S2 sold for $155 on ebay this week. Mind you it is in really nice condition, no scratches (anywhere); always kept inside a flip case. There are some there asking $200. I thought $100 was a good price for it but when I compared what else was selling … Anyways only sold it as Vodafone gave me a new S3 4G model for nothing … It was a toss up between selling the S3 new or sell the old S2. Yes, I realise I am way behind with these new S5's selling now, but I am a bit of a meanie when it comes to a mobile. One day hopefully a S5 will come my way; imagine what the new mobiles (er … smartphones) will be like then?! Most people cannot seem to hold onto a mobile for 2 years these days; my nephews and niece update their phones at least every 6 months as they either damage or lose them. Wow $800 for a new mobile!

      • don't mind me asking but why did Vodafone give you the S3 for free?
I have been with Vodafone for over 10 years now and I have received zilch.

  • Is this compatible with 4g Australia?

    • It should according to GSM arena

      LTE 800 / 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 / 2100 / 2600 - SM-G900F

    • Looks like only the white S5 is 4g compatible. The others seem to be the model SM-G900H, which isn't 4g.

      Edit:
Actually, I'm confused. Both SM-G900H and SM-G900F are listed as the model numbers in different spots.

      • +1

It appears the white is SM-G900F in title and body
        http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s5-6033.php

and the black is mentioned as 900F in title but SM-G900H in body:
        http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s5_(octa_core)-6237.php

So I'm not sure which one you'd get if you order the black.
Although in the title for the black it does list it as 4g…

And in both the body text, Communications, Cellular Network it doesn't mention 4G.

I can see why you are confused!

        • Sent seller a message, hopefully they get back to me before deals over!
Otherwise might just go for the white, seems the most likely to be 4g.

        • @Ms106:

If you could let me know in the thread what they say that'd be awesome.

I think I might just get the dual sim, G900FD, as it says 4G everywhere and the same number everywhere! :)
          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-SAMSUNG-GALAXY-S5-DUOS-4G-LTE…

        • @mutardo: Can't find any decent reviews of the duos… seriously unsure of which to buy now - but I want black and 4G.

        • @mutardo:

Got this reply about the black being 4G:

          Dear ,

          Hello,

          Thank you for your email.

The item is 4G LTE compatible.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

          Thank you!

Moral of the story - never research prices on products you have already purchased; particularly technology products.

    • +1

Not exactly true for all technology like laptop and especially macbook air. Any loss of blood is make up for by the adrenaline rush i get everytime i see a mac book air selling for $900+ knowing i got mine for only $500.

    • What about for price protection and price guarantees? Done it with Amazon a couple of times for a refund.

  • +2

How well does DWI handle returns of defective products?

  • Cheers OP, purchased.

  • -2

    What is the warranty story?

    • +1

It appears the generally consensus is to pretend there isn't one,
      will purchase regardless,
      thanks OP.

  • Qualcomm modems can be hacked for all frequencies: http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/thread-…
Btw: The G906S rocks… apart from the phone design.

  • Cheers Purchased.
Dual SIM One.. :) with 6 $ Extra.

    • Did you happen to find if there is any difference between the dual sim model(G900FD) and the normal model(G900H)?

      In relations to features/weight/battery?

  • Yes!!!
Was shattered I missed out on eBay Sunday deal (was on my phone, the Paypal checkout page wasn't working properly). Thanks OP!

  • +2

this or the one plus one or the G3??? urgghhh too many decisions!

    • Same dilemma I had,but went with s5 cos of brand and resale value.

  • Will there be another mad hour Sunday today, as that would bring down gs5 to $425

    • I don't think so.

  • +1

    Thanks highdealer.

  • +1

not the same product, ..but i picked up the galaxy tab s 10.5 for 420 today, from the same seller

    • Mean. I'm waiting for one with an s pen

  • +2

Cheaper than a gloves of haste! thanks op!

  • Thanks OP
Been in the market for an S4 but at this price it's a buy

  • So to get the 15% off, do you have to "Buy It Now", then it will give you the option to enter the code?

    • Yes. Apply the code in checkout before PayPal

  • Anyone know if this is the Blue one, and can confirm it's the same phone…..

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SAMSUNG-GALAXY-S5-G900-16MP-G900F…

    • +1

      This is definitely blue colour

  • +1

Yep, this finally made me pull the trigger. Have been tossing up between GS5, Note 3 and Oneplus One for aaaaages! My Lumia 920 is still going hard but the slow app development is killing me.

  • Anybody having success through Cashrewards site? :( Page is crashing.

    • +1

Worked for me an hour ago, I think ebay is having issues at the moment though.

      • Even Ebay could not handle it.

  • Is this still working ? Won't load for me. Was able to get the black a few hours ago, now trying to get the white it doesn't load.

    • Ended up buying another black one and request to get a white one through that order.

Wonder if anyone else had success buying the white?

  • +3

Ebay is dead at the moment :(

  • +1

Had to decide between this, the Oneplus One and HTC M8. Ended up with the white S5 - I'm already in the Samsung ecosystem and they tend to keep their resale pretty well. I've always had black or grey phones so looking forward to a changeup.

  • thanks. ended up buying one. didnt realise there was a dual sim version. now need to buy wireless charger and back cover.

  • Finally worked for me through the Mobile browser. Bought one. Thanks OP.

  • Not enough stock to post as a deal, but ezoneshop has a couple of each colour with 4G for $15-20 more than DWI.
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/321399905865?ssPageName=STRK:MEWA…
Personally grabbed a G900I from them for the 700Mhz 4G support (G900F does not have)

    • In the description the model says G900F

  • CMIIW, but isn't the Korean made S5 is better than this one? Model number is G906K and I think the current price on ebay is $650 before discount. I believe this model is also compatible with 4G network in AU and it comes with better processor than G900.

  • LG G3 seems better than Samsung S5 and they appear to be around the same price.

    • +1

Not really. Only the 32GB LG G3 is marginally better than the 32GB S5. Comparing the 16GB version then the S5 is better.

LG G3 pro: Better Screen resolution, More Ram (only on the 32GB model).

Galaxy S5 pro: Better Camera, MicroUSB v3.0, Fingerprint sensor (PayPal certified) IP67 certified - dust and water resistant, Water resistant up to 1 meter and 30 minutes, more popular brand = better reselling value.

In the end it's really personal preference, i like both of them but decided i want an S5 because i find it's feature more practical for me and the resell value is much better than LG.

  • Hay guys I m looking for suggestion . I m choosing between S5 , HTC one m8 , sony z2 and nexus 5 . which one would be best ? battery life is a must as i do listen music most of the time with my phone. Thanks !

    • -2

Sure thing I'll just google that for you.

      • -1

if u dont want to help dont bother to reply . i already did google . I m asking here because i want to know other suggestion . dont be A D***

        • After some googling it appears that the Sony Z2 has the largest battery and longest battery life.

    • +1

I am using S5. So far, I am pretty happy with it.

    • I wont buy HTC as the last one stopped working after warranty period. Have orded S5 now.

  • +1

I just bought it and i was charged 578 even though the coupon code was added and the $86 was reduced.
Can somebody clarify this for me please? Thank you.

    • +1

      Check transaction details in PayPal.

    • +1

Check your paypal detail, it should say something like

      $578 for the phone

      $86 as coupon

$473 taken out of your credit card or direct debit (which ever is your payment method to paypal)

      • yes,Highleader you are correct.Thank you

  • Hi can someone let me know the difference between this and buying an AU stock?

    • You cannot AFAIK take the grey import phone to Samsung Service Center for warranty repairs.

  • -2

    Please read their warranty terms.

It writes only "s5 phone" in "whats in the box" seaction. (not mentioned about accessories)

also look at bottom of the page:

  • Grabbed one! Thanks OP!

  • Can anyone confirm if Black one is 4G

  • .
Thanks to highdealer for posting this and to Ebay for extending the CELEBRATE15 until tuesday
that was the clincher for me …… can't believe I got the S5 black for $486.20 :)

  • +1

Any intel on the ebay dealers? This shop has reduced the price ($483 after coupon) and confirms that it's 4G in black:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Samsung-GALAXY-S5-SM-G900F-16…

Also 100% positive feedback. Worth buying from them instead, or stick to DWI?

    • +1

I've noticed lots of people on whirlpool buy from him.

      • From DWI or "Quality Deals"? I'm itching to pull the trigger since there isn't much time left, but that "3.5G" and incorrect model name has made me nervous about DWI. This seller's 100% positive feedback is reassuring, and they're pretty clear about it having 4G - whilst also being cheaper.

I never buy expensive gadgets from ebay so I'm still unsure.

        • +1

I am leaning towards Quality deals; especially because of local warranty in sydney

        • +3

Pulled the trigger with Quality Deals; Used Cash rewards as well. Finally going to upgrade from Samsung galaxy S2

        • +1

@lokesh7: Didn't notice that. Might go with them then. Hope everyone who purchased from DWI gets a 4G model too.

Now to decide between dual sim or regular, both same price…

        • +2

          @paizuri5:

I meant QD Au from the ebay link he posted

        • +2

@lokesh7: I just bought one from QD too!

  • Bought 2 (Duos one has been posted :)). Black one still waiting.

  • Black s5 now marked as posted with tracking number :)

    • how long did it take before it before it marked as posted?

      • The next day I believe

  • +1

Thanks mate. Purchased a white one from Quality Deals

  • I applied the discount code but was then charged in full. Is there any line of enquiry I can pursue or am I at the loss?

Can I cancel the payment and do it over without much hassle?

    • same thing happened to me. ebay checked me out without consent during the height of their tech issues.

only got a $10 discount voucher.

DWI reimbursed me the payment and I purchased another S5 with the discount code.

  • I too was worried bout the black model listing as I purchased one until I got a reply just now from them. At least they responded back and it sounds positive

    Thanks for your message.

Sorry for the typo on the listing, yes, it would compatible with 4G LTE
If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
