CELEBRATE15

I have been after a NUC for a while, and have finally been able to pick up a few for under $560ea thanks to the eBay birthday sale.
I'm sure you could mix and match a few things here, but I opted to keep it all from a single seller [@ShoppingExpress] just to make it a bit easier.

1] Intel i5 NUC BOXD54250WYKH - $465
2] Samsung 8Gb DDR3L-1600 1.35v RAM M471B5173DB0 - $95
3] Samsung 120Gb mSATA SSD 840 EVO MZ-MTE120BW - $98

Total = $658
Use CELEBRATE15 coupon to bring it down to $559.30 delivered.

Of course you way want something not as powerful (or that mSATA may be sold out) … So lets look at some alternates:

1a] Intel N2820 NUC DN2820FYKH - $176
1b] Intel i3 NUC BOXD34010WYKH - $339

2a] Samsung 4Gb DDR3L-1600 1.35v RAM M471B5173DB0 - $49.95

3a] Kingston 60Gb 2.5" SSD SV300S37A60G - $69.90
3b] Samsung 120Gb 2.5" SSD [840 EV] [http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261271208982) - $89
3c] Sandisk 128GB 2.5" SSD SDSSDHP-128G-Q25 - $91
3d] Crucial 128Gb 2.5" SSD CT120M500SSD1 - $96

So there you go… Hopefully something there for everybody :]

It was way cheaper on their previous deals.

    i3 was $309 and i5 was $409 deal.

    No deal :(

    • Try building the equivalent machine…

      This deal = $395 + $81 + $83 (msata SSD) = $559
      That deal = $409 + $88 + $82 (not mSATA) = $579

This is the cheapest the i5 kit has been.
The options were just provided if you wanted to downgrade any of the parts.

  • Genuinely curious here. Are NUCs like HTPCs?

    • Yeah. I'm using mine as a HTPC and for streaming Steam games from my gaming PC.

  • Could these be used as a HTPC/server?

    • Yes, That's exactly how i use mine.

I've got a plex server running on it. And also alot of other automated programs.
