  • Can you tell me where to input the discount code as there doesn't seem to be a place on your website nor the Paypal checkout.

  • Hi, what about receiving calls from Australia ? What will be the rate ? And what is the validity of the card itself, ie. I buy it now, and I should activate it by…
    Thanks

  • Hi @noblenick, we apologise for that. The price has been changed accordingly. Thanks for letting us know

  • Hi @yht. All incoming calls are free of charge.

    • Just expanding on this - are incoming SMS and MMS free too? Is it prepaid in the sense that once the $10 credit has been used you can no longer make calls or that you get charged extra? If so do the rates stay the same?

      • hi littlewriggles, no you dont get charged anything extra for receiving sms or mms. The person sending you sms/mms will likely get charged about $0.30-0.50 cents per message depending on their service provider. The $10 preloaded international credit for mobile calls to Australia once run out will only mean you wont have enough credit on the card to call mobiles in Aus. You will still have unlimited calls to landlines and outgoing SMS/MMS. And no you cannot be charged anything extra on this card. For the 30 day period you can use as much features of the card as you can without any worries. After 30 days you may recharge at most convenience stores in the USA or on the T-Mobile website if you wish. Hope that helps!

  • Dear customers. There is currently an issue on our website checkout page in regards to the discount code. Unfortunately the discount code input field is not displaying. We have adjusted our prices to $48 (normally $60). This will last for the duration of our offer. Thanks for your support and understanding.

  • Hi @yht, In regards to your questions on the simc card validity. The sim is valid for 30 days after activation. And has no expiry if left unactivated. Thanks

  • Hi Rep - sorry to be a downer but is there some way we can verify we didnt just buy a useless piece of plastic? It does say to not use the sim before arrival which makes sense, but I can imagine arriving, inserting the sim, and nothing happens. (noting that you guys are new and all)

    • Hi Innocence,

No need to be sorry at all. We completely understand. I hope it reflects on our site and our commitment to prompt and courteous customer service that we have invested a great deal into this business, and have worked as hard as we can to bring the best products and a great site!
We are a registered legitimate business with an ABN and ACN. We haven't worked this hard to sell a few fake pieces of plastic to make a couple of hundred dollars and run away. We have invested a lot of time and money into this for one reason, to stick around in the long run and to help Aussies travel easier.

I hope that helps. If it isn't enough just yet we do understand and are here to prove ourselves to all our customers. Check back with us in 6 months and hopefully we will have enough credentials for you then. :)

      • in the same vein as @Innocence's question — what support is offered if the activation hasn't occurred successfully on the nominated date? do you offer a refund/ 24*7 customer service?

        • +2

Hi lewislardboy, It is very rare for our SIMS to be activated unsuccessfully. But we have a dedicated customer service team which work around the clock and we are always happy to assist our customers with any activation issues they maybe facing. We also have a number of partnerships with T-Mobile affiliates within the U.S. So if a particular issue arises which cannot be solved by us. Our friendly partners in the U.S. are more than happy to assist our customers in fixing these issues. And they have sold thousands of these sims to local customers without any issues. But to further extend our customer service guarantee, if our customers are still not happy with our service, we will happily provide a full refund.

      • Understand, thanks for the response.

  • Ive always used AT&T pay as you go, ends up been approx $60per month and works fantastic with 4g speeds and 3gb data

    • +1

Yeh T-Mobile's compatibility with an Australian iPhone is very limited (they only have very few cities on their new frequency network). AT&T on the other hand will give you 4G speeds all across the USA.

  • Do you have anything for europe?

    • Hi nick286, We have SIMs for UK only at the moment. But we are working hard to solidify a number of partnerships for local European SIMs. We should have something for you in the next 1-2 months. When are you travelling?

      • December

Italy, Swiss, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France

        • Sounds like a great holiday nic! I can't guarantee anything but I im confident we will have SIMS for most if not all of those countries before you leave. You can keep checking out our site or you can leave your contact details at [email protected] and we will send you an email as soon as we have them in. Oh and seeing as you are asking here, we will make sure you get 20% off any purchases you make for your December holiday!

  • Hi rep, does this sim work for other states outside of mainland USA? like Hawaii or Alaska?

    • Hi entroducing, Currently our T-Mobile USA SIM can be used in Hawaii also, but unfortunately not Alaska. For more info you can check if there is coverage for your travel destination at T-Mobile here: http://www.t-mobile.com/coverage.html

  • How does this compare against ReadySim which I just bought :-/ (2 weeks for $35)

    • +1

Hi, muncan ReadySIM actually is backed by T-Mobile. It is a good SIM for travels of a short duration. The only exception is it doesn't have any international calls.

  • Seems like good value. Will check it out as I am headed there over new years.

    • Hi Ads, No worries. Send us your email to info@roamingabroad. And we will make sure to still give you the discount you saw today : )

  • Damn it! I bought a similar card with less international credit to call back here for like $30 more 2 weeks ago.
Will you guys be extending this deal or having more soon?

    • Hi Drakes_Misfortune, sorry to hear that. we are always open to making good value deals regularly so next time maybe you will get a bargain

  • Does the sim card come with a fixed US number?

    • Hi dpoon73, yes a brand new U.S mobile number will be assigned to your SIM.

  • Sounds like an interesting deal. But like nickster9999 commented above, will have to check to make sure T-Mobile's network frequencies are compatible with your handset first. I haven't looked at this lately, but on past trips have found that AT&T offers the widest compatibility with Aussie handsets. Maybe that's changed now.

  • Thanks! I'm headed over there at the end of the year and just bought one. looks like its normally $50USD over there so its a great opportunity to buy it

  • Hi rep, heading to the US in a couple of weeks and this seems like a good offer but I have a few questions (apologies in advance if it's been stated somewhere and I missed it).
    1. Why do we need to provide phone IMEI for US services?
    2. What happens if I have to switch handsets and the IMEI no longer matches the one I used to register?
    3. On your 4-step "all you need to do" guide, it doesn't mention anything about providing personal details? Is this info required and if so what info do you need? For example, name, DOB, passport number, etc?
    4. The 1gb of included 4G data - can I use this to set up tethering (wifi hotspot) on my phone for other devices or is this feature restricted by the carrier?

    Thanks.

    • +1

      Hi TwoDolla,

      1. The IMEI is generally needed in many countries to confirm the SIM will be allocated to a legal handset (i.e. not stolen). We are working with our affiliates in the USA and T-Mobile to wave this requirement, as we see it as only being applicable to US residents. For the time being during negotiations we are not requiring IMEI, so this is not needed.
      2. Switching from one handset to another is completely fine, as long as the other handset can use the SIM card size you have i.e. if you purchase a nano sim card please make sure your next handset uses nano cards to be able to use the sim with it.
      3. We need a name and address for shipping but there is no requirements for these USA sim cards for things like passport number. We abide by all legal regulations of whatever original country of the card we supply. At this stage no country legally requests such things besides China.
      4. Yes you may use tethering services with the 1GB, just be careful as these days with hi-definition services on many sites it may lead to the 4G speeds being chewwed up a lot quicker than you would like.

      Hope that helps!

      • Yep, that helped, thanks. Will check network frequencies are compatible with my phone but looking like a good option for me so far.
        Cheers.

      • Hi rep,
Purchased one. Hopefully will arrive next week as I depart the week after.
I noted my Activation date and IMEI in the checkout process as well as in paypal notes.

In the off chance it doesn't work when I arrive in the US, do you have a customer service number I can call? The contact us page on your site only seems to send an email/message.

Also, the $10 credit for calling australian mobiles, can this be used to call/text other countries as well?

        Thanks.

        • Hi TwoDolla,
It has been express shipped so you should expect it very early next week at the latest!
If it doesn't work you can contact us via email or mobile number.

Alternatively, you can call T-Mobile directly, visit one of their retail branches in the US.

Yes your $10 international credit can be used to call/text other countries. But bare in mind some of these calls and text may be free and unlimited for the 30 days, please see this list to see which countries you want to SMS/Call will be eligible:
          http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/Content/files/Prepaid_UIT…
          Thanks!

  • What is the value in this deal,
if you are going for less than 16 days you are better off on the T-Mobile $3 a day pre paid or if you don't need fast web their $2 a day plan.

also this plan offered here is $50 when you get there and you don't have to worry about is this thing going to work because you have bought direct from T-Mobile.

FWIW I used T-Mobile last time I was in the US and other than the 3G web not working T-Mobile was fine.

    • You're right in that this isn't a package designed for very brief visits. The value though is in that it is a $50 US SIM with an addition $10 of international call credits delivered straight to your door before you ever leave. No need to look around in the states. Plus we are in a direct partnership with T-Mobile and their affiliates so activation is as reliable as anywhere in the States itself.
But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as is the bargain in the mind of hunter.

  • How good are you're Asian sims? Planning a top mid-2015. Any deals for them to? ;)

  • Can you tell me if this card will work in LA, also does the number you get when you put star, hash 06 hash into the phone matter when it comes to activation, I have bought one for my grandson and inadvertently given the number for my phone, which is totally different.

    • Hi Sandra,
This card has strong reception for most of LA. Also, the IMEI is used for activation purposes and even though it is very much preferred the IMEI of the phone primarily using the SIM is provided it wont stop other phones from using it. So you will have no problem!
