Rep, what's the sim card expiry date before activation? I will only need it from late January next year. I don't want it to expire before I get a chance to use it

    • Hi xanctum

The sim card does not have an expiry date, hence you will be able to activate and use the sim card when you travel to NZ in January.

        Thx, ordering one.

By the way, since the RRP is NZD, strictly speaking it's about 20% off with the current NZD/AUD exchange rate, not 30%.
        Good price nonetheless. Thanks, Rep.

  • What is with the early morning shouting?

Reported for shouting and for pleading for positive votes.

    EDIT:
    Thanks for the revisions (edits).
That is much better. I still don't like the two lines left of yelling.

    • Hi A3Australia

We are trying to accomodate those individuals who are hard of hearing. :)

  • Just back from NZ for a 10 day trip. Was looking for deals a few weeks ago on. Doh!

    • Hi boab88

For your next travel - check our website as we stock sim cards for numerous countries, and are always adding new countries.

  • A minor corrections in your post:
    * NZ actually has 3 major carriers: Telecom, Vodafone and 2 Degrees.

But yeah, this is actually a good deal. I normally use Telecom and you can to purchase confusing data packs. I think I spent about $50 last time I went, but it was terrible value because I didn't understand the data packs.

    • Hi guidedlight

We are aware of 2degrees - however we chose not to include them as in numerous areas they roam of the Vodafone network. But you are right, they would be considered the 3rd biggest network in NZ.

Also this deal is excellent for travellers as there is no confusing set-up procedure require. The user simply inserts the sim card, dials 777 and the sim card is ready to use.

  • rep do you deliver to PO Box?

    • Hi BeanKaunta

      Yes we do.

      • OK so do i just put the PO box details in the street address fields?

Also i just called the 1300 number and it asked me to leave a message. Strange?

        • Yes, you can put the PO BOX details in the street address field.

If the service reps are on a number of calls, it will ask you to leave a message so they can contact you back. You can try calling back again, or just leave a message and/or e-mail [email protected]

  • I know I can look up their respective coverage maps but does Vodafone or Spark/Telecom (Skinny mobile provider) have better coverage in remote areas of NZ ?

    • Hi rohanp16

Coverage in rural areas will depend on which part of NZ you are travelling. In some rural areas - you will get great Vodafone coverage and no Telecom coverage and in other areas you will get great Telecom coverage and limited Vodafone coverage.

      Vodafone has over 97% coverage in NZ - you can check the coverage map by going to the following link below;

      http://www.vodafone.co.nz/network/coverage/

You can compare it with Telecom coverage map

  • I am under contract with Vodafone AU so my iPhone would be locked to them - does this mean that I can't get the Vodafone NZ deal?

    • Hi Cablecol,

Just because you are on a plan does not mean your phone is Locked. Their is more chance that your phone is unlocked if it is on a plan compared to if you purchased it prepaid from a telco. Vodafone tend to not lock their iPhones.

Easiest way to find out if your phone is unlocked is to put in a sim card from a different carrier. Alternatively, just give Vodafone a call and they should be able to confirm over the phone that they do not lock their iPhones

      • Their (sic) is more chance

How the heck did you get that so wrong?

Easiest way to find out if your phone is unlocked is to put in a sim card from a different carrier.

No, as this is an iPhone, the easiest way to check the locked/unlocked status is to call Apple on 1300-321-456 and ask them.

        • Thanks A3Australia for your response.

We can now provide more options for our customers in how to check if their phone is unlocked.

We will try our best to keep grammatical errors low. Hopefully, I don't have any in this response.

      Thanks for your e-mail.

I ordered the $40 US SIM deal on 7:05am on 24/09/2014 (#100000866). It was shipped on 25th but I still haven't received it.

I called the 1300 number yesterday they promised to send me an email but I still haven't received any response.

I called the 1300 number again today which says "unable to connect to the party. account balance is low"?! I'm now a bit worried. (My phone is post-paid and working fine, just called Australia Post afterwards).

    • +1

Update: SimCorner just emailed me saying they contacted Australia Post and the delivery is only "one day not on time".

The item was shipped on 25th from DANDENONG NORTH (Melbourne) to 3000 (Melbourne CBD). It's now over a week but only "one day not on time"?. I can't believe this was indeed Express Post as they advertised.

Update: Just received my SIM card. SimCorner delivered the SIM card in person for me. While the initial delivery did not arrive, it's more likely a problem of Australia Post not SimCorner. I really appreciate the effort they made to resolve the delivery issue. I would more than likely use them again in future.
