Problems with Rebel Sport: Delivery & Returns

Hey guys, will try to keep this short and simple.

Tuesday 7th October 2014:
Check 3 out of 3 Sydney CBD Rebel Stores, nobody carries Outdoor Futsal turf boots — only indoor boots. Ordered some turf soccer boots from Rebel Sports online. $69.99 + Free Courier Delivery. Courier delivery of (expected) 1 day.

This is brilliant news for me as the season starts Thursday 9th October. Order and pay at 2:20PM.

Wednesday 8th October 2014:
No correspondence from Rebel or Fastway Couriers.

Thursday 9th October 2014:
About 3PM, finally receive a note from Fastway Couriers that parcel has been picked up and is being moved to the distribution centre. Tracking number received. First game starts at 8:00PM. Get on a bus and head to Broadway — closest store with stock — and purchase boots.

Friday 10th October 2014:
About 3PM, finally receive package. No longer required, so don't open package.

Monday 13th October 2014:
Attempt to return package, as they were unable to meet the agreed 1 day delivery. Noted that an order made at 2:20PM may have lapsed over to orders processed on Wednesday, but this does not explain an extra day delay. Was then told by manager that they refuse to exchange, as they aren't liable for Fastway's delay.

That's irrelavant, the courior is their relationship.

I'd go back to them and tell them, that's not relevant, you made a purchase on their advertisement.

I personnally don't shop at Rebels anymore, they're dying, not due to the internet as they like to claim, but their management/service has gone to garbage…

Rebels should be a case study into how you stuff up a popular monopoly.

Sounds like this was an estimated time of delivery.

  • Thanks for your responses. Simply went to another of the 3 CBD shops and was able to complete the transaction with about 10 words said between us. Customer service!

  • Glad to hear that all was sorted out.

From repeated experience I have to say Fastway are hopeless. I've never had a parcel delivered within four days of the estimated delivery period, and they've got a nasty habit of closing online enquiries without actually responding to them. I think this is mainly because these emails get forwarded to the franchise that accepted the parcel, not the one who drives it the final mile, but all the same it is really frustrating.
