  • wheres the bargain? :/

    • Shipping a box with a cubic volume of around 60kg around Australia for free.

      • Why is your volume measured in kg?

        • +1

When you ship items within Australia most carriers will calculate the greater of the two, volumetric weight or dead weight (actual weight). Space is also a concern to shipping companies. When your ship smaller items under 22kg you can usually ship with AusPost who will not worry about the cubic. But these chairs are all over 22kg dead weight which means the volume comes into play.

  • So Free shipping is the deal ?
They are full RRP, No deal

    • +6

Free shipping still counts as a deal.
Btw OP, it's until rather than untill

      • My bad i'll get that fixed that in the morning.

No price in title, obvious spam

    • Sorry Expon, i have added the price in now. This isn't spam.

  • anyone know where we can get quality chairs for cheaper than this??

    • These arn't the cheapest chairs around but you get what you pay for. DX Racer sponsors 90% + of the largest gaming tournaments around the globe. We are also sponsor numerous events around Australia. The lastest one being the CGPL in Sydney.

      • Yet you only offer a one year warranty. If these had a 3-5 year warranty I'd jump on it instantly.

        • I have spoken with managment and they would like to match the American market warranty terms which will be:

Lifetime warranty for the steel frame and 2 years for chair parts (not including natural wear of PVC or fabric).

I will be updating this policy on the dxracer.com.au site tommorow. It will match the warranty policy terms set out on http://www.dxracer.com/faq.html

  • Why is Warranty not listed anywhere ?

    • I will get that sorted out in the morning. Sorry we have just put the new site live.

      • Can you please tell me what the warranty is on a DX RACER R SERIES OFFICE/GAMING CHAIR - BLACK CLOTH ?

        • 12 months. We stock all spare parts so there will be no problems with repairs, these chairs go through 72 strict quality control tests.

    • All items have a 12 month warranty.

    • I have spoken with managment and they would like to match the American market warranty terms which is:

Lifetime warranty for the steel frame and 2 years for chair parts (not including natural wear of PVC or fabric).

    • They may be slightly similar as they are both chairs but you can't compare products on that alone. The quality of both products are completly different, which is why DX Racer products are more expensive, it is why DX Racer is the leading choice for professional gamers. We are not trying to sell a low quality product at high price. A search on google for DX Racer chair reviews will show this.

If these really are better quality, why is the warranty period on the $129 competition above the same as your (cheapest) $339 alternative?

        • +4

Length of warranty is hardly indicative of quality. Toyota gives the same warranty as BMW, would you then suggest we just buy a Toyota?

        • +1

That is a good point Charcoal. I appreciate the feedback and i will bring this up with management. 1 year is the standard and none of our customers have asked about a longer warranty or complained about our current policies. DX Racer is still relativly new to Australia and we want to keep our customers happy.

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-8-Point-Massage-Racing-Office…

There's also a plethora of racing chairs on ebay which are around the 120-150 mark which offer three years warranty and free shipping, sure the dx ones might be better build/more comfortable but all the same, they are simply not competitive enough especially when you are breaking into a new market and nobody knows who you are. Judging by the rest of comments from the community, I'm not the only one to think this; not good enough a deal, sorry : /

        • Chairs of different quality are going to have different price tags. DX Racer isn't a new brand and i'm not here trying to justify its quality. If your a gamer you would of heard of it or seen it at any respectable gaming event.

        • @DXRacer: you're. So you are saying I'm not a gamer because I've never heard of this brand?

          u mad?

        • @Prothean:

I do not understand why there are 12 year old trolls on ozbargain. Who would have thought?

  • +3

I bought my herman miller aeron at $400, it's far better than this.

  • Unfortunate name. Most ozargainers are still burnt from the DX sale last year

    • Can i ask what the DX sale was last year?

      • 50% off sale where many of us failed to have items delivered
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/103271

Reading the posts you obviously have no association with them but when I saw the tittle I thought they were selling gaming chairs now.

        • Ah ok, yes DX Racer has no association with that brand/company. Unfortunate naming, but if you search for DX Racer you will see DX Racer is a highly respected brand throughout the gaming industry, but it is relatively new to the Australian market.

  • how do these chairs fair, sitting 8-10hours a day, 7 days a week?

    • Here is some reviews from the US site. You will get a good idea of the design and quality of the chairs.

      http://www.dxracer.com/customer-reviews.html

You can also do a quick search on google and you will find plenty of positive reviews.

No way is pay that much for a PU leather chair. PU=disposable. I'd be looking at leather at the prices you're asking.

    • I've been considering the officeworks version for a while, especially now that there's a metal base version.

      • We have a bunch at work (officeworks ones)

If you like the looks, you should buy it, but they aren't really anything like sitting in real bucket seats.

  • +1

This is a place full of raging sceptics, so you might want to adjust how you sell your product, here accordingly.

Making vague statements about it being the chair of choice for "professional gamers" is effectively tantamount to "celebrity testimonials". It is also rather dubious when you have also have somewhat suggested that in actual fact, it might be that rather than being the chair of choice, it was the chair that was paid to be in place at the gaming contests and perhaps the chair they went home with, for free :-)

Most of us sit in chairs all day (and all night). Professional gamers opinions mean no more than John Smith riding a desk, pushing paper all day. In fact, if John Smith has a bad back, I'd rather hear his opinion on the matter. At least he has a name.

Also, who on earth reads reviews on a products own website?

I know you've received a bit of negativity, here, so I'll end in a positive - you're right, reviews elsewhere are decent (the amazon reviews seem pretty okay).

  • Costco AU sells chairs around the $250~300 mark which are known to have pretty good ergonomics and are often called the poor man's Herman Miller Aeron.
A lot of members have already bought them and speak highly of them.

Also, I couldn't find mesh chairs. Sitting on a chair for 9+ hours a day where the material isn't easily breathable like mesh eventually leads to a messy and disgusting experience.

All a gamer needs from the chair is correct height and hand rest position. Gamer's reviews on a mouse would have got more cred than their review about a chair.

  • Hi, when will you have stock of: DX RACER K SERIES OFFICE/GAMING CHAIR - BLACK & GREY PU LEATHER ?

    • We don't have any more of them coming back into stock at the moment. We have 3 more types K Series chairs coming in the next shipment due to arrive late November. These will be going up on the website today as pre order.

    • The K Series is now up and available for pre-order.

  • +1

Even without FS, these chairs are cheaper than in the USA. GOod deal for a 'premium' chair, if there is such a thing.

  • Hey OP, when is this chair going to be back in stock? http://www.dxracer.com.au/dxracer-pc-gaming-chairs/dxracer-f…

    • Hi Annoying Sauce, We actually have 12 in stock, they were labeled incorrectly.

      • I placed an order yesterday for a chair the exact same price just a different design because I thought this one was out of stock, Is it possible to change my order?

        • +1

No problems, ill change that for you.

  • Actually buying one of these when I noticed free shipping! Checked ozbargain, lo and behold here it is :)
