i can confirm that this is a fine tablet. got it from COD last week for $78. performance is decent, screen is bright enough, not super sharp or bright but very decent.
runs graphic intense games fine with no problems.
one of the best thing is HDMI out. does 50 or HZ 720P and 24Hz 1080p out.
plays 1080P movies with super ease with both the screen and with HDMI out.
I tested few different movie file formats from my FreeNAS setup over wifi, can confirm 1080P mkv, avi plays great.
you can even play games over HDMI mirroring.
i hope this helps. this is the cheapest solution for your home projector setup if you want to play media, youtube etc over network.

      There not even worth $9.

The people negging probaly has never had one before

  • Anyone used this as an e-reader? Battery life would suffer I think, but the price is good.

    • Kobos are like a Kindle, an e-reader tablet.

      • it's just a stock standard tablet running android with some pre-loaded Kobo apps. Not even a particularly good tablet with the low res screen, no software updates past jelly bean, no GPS and quite thick/heavy (it's heavier than an iPad Mini, even though the Mini has a larger screen).

It's what Kobo used to compete with the Kindle Fire, but it's 18 months old now so $80 is all it's worth.

    • battery life would be nowhere near that of an e-ink e-reader, but much more useful
