  • Would other stores accept the OPs image?

  • a 'must have' for the Wii U

  • Stash them in aisle 524 behind the pink men's undies and come back in a year.
You'll get it for free as the price may be out of the POS

They have Assassins Creed 3 Wii U for $6 as well. I bought it purely for the price, I know I won't play it.

Just another game to add to your library and make it look big, I know I'm the same lol

What stores will price match a clearance? Never heard of that happening.

    • Genuinely curious about this. Do they specifically use the clearance tag to void any price matches?

  • What's up with the sales btw, is Kmart getting out the games business or something?

They have been slowly clearing games for a while now. Pretty sure all 3DS are either gone or next to nothing left with their $99 3DS XL clearance and $10 Pokemon X/Y.
They had Skyward Sword and a bunch of other Wii games on clearance, a whole heap of PS3 and X360 and also Wii U. The newer games for those platforms are still close to full retail though. I scanned a heap of stuff yesterday and Mario Kart 7, SM3DW etc were all still standard pricing. Fifa for Wii U came up as $39 and Assassins was $6. Needless to say I put back about 15 games and checked out with that one for $6. They triple checked it and called a manager as the sticker price was $69.95 and couldn't believe it.

I also asked about their old style PS3 320 Gig consols (Silver Box) and they were down to $249 from $399… needless to say, I passed that one. Give it another month.

      • Pah, Mario Kart Wii (with the wheel) is still $89!

    • Maybe, a lot of the older games are on clearance. I picked up Miracle Mask for $15 and Kid Icarus 3DS for $10!

      • Wish I'd been able to get Kid Icarus for $10…it's near impossible to find a new copy now…

        • The copies at Kmart looked second hand anyway so theres probably not much point looking for a new one. I could upload a receipt if you want

i saw ZombiU for $9 up here at my local on Thursday.

  • I got this game with a MK8 bundle ages ago, but have barely touched it. Is it any good? I have the Gamepad and two Wii U Pro controllers, but I think the game requires the Motion+ WiiMotes to play. Am I right in thinking that, and if so, should I consider investing in some?

    • Lookup gumtree if you don't mind used wii remote plus for around $20 or less.

I personally love this game, it'd probably be the most played game I own for Wii U. Mario Chase is quite possibly the most fun I've had in a multiplayer game, ever. It does require a Wiimote for each player, though, but if you already have a couple lying around, it's well worth it for $30, and a steal at $9!

Huge call, but I'm listening. As compared to what other multiplayer's in your experience? I know I'm eventually gonna have to get a WiiU for whatever Zelda eventually comes out, but from what you're saying figure I should get it sooner rather than later.

The thing with Mario Chase is that it's ridiculously easy to play, with either one or two buttons used depending on whether you're Mario or a Toad. That makes it way more accessible than other "easy" multiplayer games like Mario Kart, and it requires teamwork so everybody starts yelling across the room and it gets louder and louder and louder.

I wouldn't go out and buy a Wii U just to play Mario Chase, but it (and the other games in Nintendoland) are definitely a showcase of the unique features of the Wii U.

I know what you mean, I love it too. Me and three other friends get together and have ridiculously loud sessions playing Mario Chase, Luigi's Mansion and the Animal Crossing one. We probably have the most fun with Animal Crossing. And definitely the more players you have the more fun it is. Pick up a few second hand wiimotes and a big pack of batteries. I've yet to play with a full team of five but it will be happening soon!

      • Oh with five it gets even better! The Mario Chase maps get bigger when there's 4 or 5 players!

Luigi's Mansion and Animal Crossing definitely gets everyone worked up at my place

Mario Chase is still good fun though

The minigames in Nintendoland kinda make me wish I had friends, sometimes :|

    • Nothing beats Goldeneye multiplayer back on the good ol N64!

    • It is fun but using the Wiimote to dash around using the directional buttons is highly frustrating when chasing someone using the Gamepad who can go diagonal and navigate corners and curves much more easily! Am I missing something?

  • Agree with all the above posts, along with Metroid also getting a big workout for co-op multiplayer too. Nintendoland is definitely a game that gets better the more players there are - most of them are pretty simple, but that has the benefit of letting pretty much anyone join in with ease.

Even still; there's a weirdly abundant amount of singleplayer only games for a multipler game. I know Nintendo wanted to showcase everything the tablet can do in one game, but c'mon guys, a couple more multiplayer games wouldn't hurt. And not even every franchise was represented! Where's the Star Fox minigame? Gosh dangit, Nintendo.

None at Kmart Southland. Will have a look in Chadstone on Thursday but doubt there will be any left.
