  • An option with 4GB RAM would be a lot more appealing.

Dear Sir, this current version of Intel supports maximum 2 GB RAM, so it's the most you can get unfortunately. All similar tablets based on these Intel chips come with 2 or even 1GB.

      • I hope next time it can use the Z3795 or similar, as Lenovo are putting 4GB in their tablet.

Maybe in future the manufacturer would use this chip also, I hope, and can provide customers with more RAM, but for today it's their newest tablet I believe.

how do you go about putting win8 on it?

  • If this tablet was loaded with 8.1 , i would be more inclined to buy it

    • +1

Dear Sir, maybe the manufacturer is planning to sell tablets with Win 8.1 preloaded in future, I don't know for sure. But I suppose such tablet will cost more, too, because as you may know Win 8.1 is free for manufacturers to install on devices under 9". And this tablet is bigger.

  • Bought this, Hopefully it will ship soon! Good deal for 220$ :)

    • +1

Dear Sir, the shop's employee states that his product is generally dispatched from the warehouse within 2 days. Hope, you'll receive it fast and smooth.

      • I also paid for DHL so it should be here really soon then! :) Thanks rep.

          Goodluck..

Both orders I have placed with Geekbuying have ended in paypal refunds due to them stalling.

Item states on website IN STOCK

10 days later (after paying for DHL) Item still not shipped and waiting on supplier is their excuse

          Will never use Geekbuying again

        • @Megahowler:

Hopefully that does not happen :(

I read some reviews of geekbuying and they also claim this issue.

        • @Megahowler:
Dear Sir, I'm so sorry you've had such problems. I also know that sometimes supply issues happen at this shop from other people's reviews, I suppose their employees should update the stock information on their site more often.
But I myself made several purchases in the past here and all went smooth, I just wrote to their support before placing the order and made sure that the goods are in stock really, and if they said that they weren't or will be restocked in several days I just didn't place the order until I was sure that the stock was filled. And one more thing, personally I never use express option while making an order from Chinese shops, cause you never can be sure that they will dispatch item in time and even if they do DHL delivery from China itself sometimes takes long, too, which doesn't depend on the shops. So I just use registered airmail and wait patiently. Never had bad experience with shops in my life taking these precautions.
And as for this item, the shop's employee stated that it is now in stock in their warehouse and they will try to dispatch it within 2-3 days (I believe that some issues may arise only if they get really many orders, which I don't think is going to happen), otherwise I wouldn't post this deal here. What's the point of posting the deal if the goods weren't in stock and the customers would leave negative points later?

        • @Libria:

I've ordered about three days ago but still has not been shipped. Hopefully it ships soon..

        • @3rdEarth:
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this.
Can you please provide your order number in Personal Conversation on this site to me if you can start it (cause it writes that I can't start any conversations as an overseas user), then I can pass it to the shop to check.
Usually one need to wait 1-2 days after item departure to get the tracking number as far as I know. But maybe they got really many orders, so they have some delays now… I know this deal was posted on slickdeals and other big sites and forums by different users not connected to the shop, maybe this item got really popular, but I can't say for sure.

        • @Libria:

          I have pm'd you.

        • @Libria:
I'm here to say, that this customer's packages has already been dispatched yesterday in the evening.
No need to worry, everyone will receive his parcel.

  • The tablet specs looks promising on paper, I doubt about its real time performance though.

    • Dear Sir, I'm not really sure about performance, I don't own one, but the characteristics seem promising.
Here is also the thread from XDA developers forum I found, maybe you can find more info or reviews of the previous version of this tablet there. Or if you're really interested you can try and search more info on any other good sites you know connected to Android and electronics.

  • Hi rep any chance of a Pipo P8 deal?

    • +1

Dear Sir, as far as I see Pipo P8 is on sale now, too. For USD $191.99.
I don't know if the shop can drop the price more, but I'll ask the employee. Only one thing that the working day in China is over now, so I'll be able to bring the answer tomorrow. Sorry for inconvenience.

    • +1

I got some answers from the shop as for Pipo P8:
      1. It's temporarily stated as "Out of stock" from today. They say that the factory makes some software updates to this product and they will get back it on sale in a week or so.
      2. The price now is promotional and the lowest they can offer, USD $191.99. It was sold for some time for this price until they got the message from the factory that is temporarily stops providing this item to the sellers.

Window version from aliexpress. More expensive, however save you hassle to flash win OS!

    • There's a guide on the Chinese forums of how to flash it, I was looking at it this morning.

Hopefully I am able to get it to work :S

  • Check out this: http://hotmid.com/teclast-x98-air-ii-intel-bay-trail-t-3736f…
Cost $15.00 pre-install the windows for you :)

  • Doesn't come with playstore and the reps haven't messaged me back on how to get it on there yet… they did not mention this on their ad.

    • Shouldn't be that hard. Usually it's just: get the Play store .apk on to the device, allow unknown apps and install. There can be underlying things missing though that can cause issues.

      • I have tried that before saying anything.

I also tried to install the required gapps package but to no avail. Not quite sure what is wrong with it but the playstore keeps crashing on the tablet.

    • Dear 3rdEarth, unfortunately, I wasn't aware or warned of this fact, too. I see now on different forums similar questions arise, so I believe no one knew this tablet has this issue, cause it was new product from the factory. I wrote a message to the shop tech. support and they answered that they'll try to contact the factory as soon as possible and will explain the problem to them. Maybe some new firmware or some uptade application will solve this issue. I'm sure that it's in their interest to solve this issue if Teclast manufacturer want to sell this tablet internationally. I believe that previous tablet Teclast x98 tablet didn't have this issue, do you know?
I myself had once a Chinese tablet on which in order to get google services work one had to install special .apk called "Market enabler" which changed the country somewhere in hidden settings for your own (the Google servise refused to work cause the country war set as China, but I'm not from there) and then Play Market worked. Maybe this is the same problem here, the tablet was firstly produced for Chinese market as far as I know.

      • I will give that a try but I think market unlocker requires root to be installed.

Please update me on any information.

        • Of course, I will. I know that Geekbuying has their blog, where they often post firmwares and necessary .apk for devices, which they get from the factories, so I really hope they'll be able to get some news.

        • Good news! Geekbuying staff has contacted the factory and they found a decision. You don't even need to reflash the ROM. Please, read more here in Geekbuying blog http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.php/2014/11/20/how-to-fix-t…
