I was looking for an iron today (current one is tripping my safety switch) and started checking out these steaming ones since they are meant to work much faster. Found Myer and Bing Lee both with $130 off RRP and also Philips running a $100 cashback, brings it down to $199.

This is a newer model of the well-reviewed GC8635. There is a more expensive model the GC9550 also on sale (& cashback) but it has some bad reviews online. Hopefully this cheaper one doesn't suffer the same issues, it's very new so no reviews. Will give it a shot as Philips have 90 day satisfaction guarantee.

  • They are 299.- @ tgg too. Maybe easier to access for some people

    • +1

      Nevermind. Stupid me

  • Good price. I picked this bad boy up https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/142617 a ways back and very happy fwiw.

    • yes, that Tefal is a winner for me too.

    • OOO I have that too from way back when David Jones was having a sale.

  • Looking for a new iron, but whats so good about this iron to justify the price?

    • These steaming irons are all more expensive. I have't used it yet but what made me go this way:
      - Much less frequent filling of water
      - Was told 2x faster to iron.
      - Can iron any fabric with no temp setting to adjust

So should make ironing much quicker and easier. I doubt I would have gone this way at any price much above $200 though.

  • What's the warranty on this model? I'm having difficulty finding it on the web

    • Ok, 2 years

  • Warranty is 5 years.. just checked at Myer store (better to buy from DJ / Myer as Binglee does not have lot of stock)
