  8c untimed call to malaysia, china, hong kong, singapore, usa…. with Pennytel. You can even use web call back to your home phone and the destination number.

  Who wants to use calling cards for those countries and still has to pay 30c for the local call to the calling card number?

  NEGS: Can use only when calling from some smaller towns. If calling from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane will have to use 1800 or 1300 number and pay SURCHARGE 18 CENTS PER MINUTE!!!

  Other conditions:
  - DAILY 6C SERVICE FEE APPLIES UPON FIRST ACTIVATION
  - 10C DISCONNECTION FEE APPLIES AFTER EACH CALL
  - RATES ARE SUBJECTED TO MULTIPLE MINUTE BLOCKS
  Rates to most common countries are not shown on the web-site, therefore one have to call their customer service to find out each time before call (at 35 cents per call to 1300 number and long waiting).

  Do your calculations: local call 25 to 35 cents, then call charged in multiple minute blocks (plus potential 18 cents per minute if using 1800 or 1330 number), then 10 cents disconnection fee. And 6 cents per day service fee.

  One very short phone call may easily set you back by 1 dollar!

  I think there are so many calling cards around that when one of them says they have this deal or that it's usually just a bit of a marketing stunt because they're clever at hiding extra fees and charges and in some ways their deception is how they get people to choose them when the bottom line is that they're more expensive. Personally I would trust Exetel and I bet that they're still cheaper than this deal.
