  • 1080p screen, very good deal I must say

Bu the video card is not so great if you are going to use this for gaming. Here is the review http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-R7-M265.109394.0.htm…

  • I picked up one with the previous $999 deal. Very happy with it for the price. As mentioned above gaming is average. Can run BF BC2 1920x1080 on low-med though.

  • Very good price, laptop looks good. Wish I had an excuse to buy. Metal lid, great screen, ample HDD, ample RAM, ample CPU and backlit keyboard. Most laptops in this price range still have horrible 15.6" 1366x768 TN panels.

  • Great deal. If not in a hurry then wait for something to come on the dell outlet.

    • +1

Agreed. They were listed on the DFO for $699 delivered. Refurbed, but still comes with one year warranty.

      • There is an Inspiron 10 5000 on DFO right now at that price but it has less RAM (8GB) and a lower res screen (1366 x 768)… is it likely that a similar specced machine as this sale will actually be less at DFO?

        • +1

If this showed up on the DFO it would probably be about $800 refurbished or $1000 brand new. However, I haven't seen many non-Alienware laptops with FHD screens on there lately… not much of a saving for DFO compared to the 40% off.

  • What do we think of the Inspiron for photo editing?

  • how about the battery ?

  • Starting weight 2.38kg..

  • No optical drive. They are sometimes useful.

    • very good reason for SSD :)

      • i took out all ODD in both of my laptops just to install SSDs instead :P

  • nice specs, i wouldn't mind paying a bit more for faster graphics considering it's full hd lcd, but middle of the pack, as for 3 cell battery, that kind of rules out anything cpu/gpu intensive on battery power which would kill runtime rather quickly

  • Looks like Dell only have the quad core CPUs on the XPS and Alienware laptops and these aren't part of the 40% off sale. OK deal if you just want a dual core CPU I suppose.
