    How does the new A151p compare to the (apparently EOL) A161p? I understand the A161p was your flagship at the time

      The new A151P 2nd Gen is actually right between the A161P and the old A151P in performance. It doesn't quite have the bass punch of the A161P but has better bass quality than the old A151P. Treble is not as laid-back and "dark" as it was with the old A151P, but still more smooth than it was on the A161P. The midrange is a little more "forward" on the A151 (both versions) than the A161.

      We don't intend to bring out a higher-end BA earphone so the decision was made to bump up the performance of the A151P as much as possible and just keep it at $50 for value since we have no higher-end model for it to hurt.

      Technically, yes, but I don't usually recommend it - they won't look as nice and the fit won't be as secure.

    For the uneducated, whats the difference between the two ?
    I generally listen to a wide range of music, more focused on clarity at low volumes. I have previously got a set of Wood R1's

    Was really disappointed with their sound at low volumes, sounded ok when you turned them up but ended up sticking with my $5 logitech ultimate ears for everyday use as I normally only have 1 ear piece in and have it turned right down.

      Those R1s are a blast from the past. I have very little hands-on experience with them (they were discontinued in 2011 or maybe 2012) but didn't really like them - too much bass, not enough clarity. For clarity and low-volume performance the A151P is the one to get. In that use scenario your really don't want enhanced bass potentially obscuring anything.

    Got the Duo's in the last deal for $40 and absolutely love them. Come with plenty of different shaped and sized earbuds, in a great little carry pouch and most importantly sound brilliant.

    Hi mike, for the M-Duo, is the casing made of plastic or metal? Ive had some earphones before that look pretty similar in design, but were metal and they kept falling out because they weighed to much. Can you also confirm that the cable length is the same on both ear, and not one of those ones where it is much longer on one side. Cheers

      Its aluminum. Not too heavy, but heavier compared to plastic ones like the A151P.

      The cable on our earphones is symmetrical - what you're talking about (uneven lengths) is called a j-cord. We don't like those.

    I really appreciate having a store rep who is obviously knowledgable & enthusiastic about the product being sold and seems to tell it straight as they see it. It makes a big change from some of the audiophile stupidity that is bandied about to try and sell something and it made the decision to buy from you very easy.
