Has anyone seen a bargain for a Chromecast? I know I missed the boat on the many deals including DS and COTD etc, but just thought I'd see if there was still something sub $40 around?
I've had a look but can't seem to find anything :(

Same - I currently use my t-box for youtube streaming and then just a HDMI cable for viewing stuff from the laptop, but figured it would be much easier with one of these.
The COTD deal for around $25 would've been great :(
I discovered plex - the way it sorts/adds metadata (cover art etc) for each movie/tv-show looks awesome and makes it so much easier to find things. There is the plex app on xbox but unfortunately you have to subscribe for a monthly fee, rather just pay a one off payment. Plus the chromecast can easily be moved between tvs which is nice (rather than a whole xbox).

Or requires me to be 1m from the tv as the chord is only 1m…….

No, it requires the laptop to be 1m from the TV, not you.

Haha I missed the cotd deals too as I only recently learnt you can screencast your phone display (out of any app).
Never had a need to stream pc to a TV.
im after one now too. might have to pay $49 as i dont want to wait.
same boat here, just realized that the Soniq 48" tv from JB HI FI doesnt support USB 3.0 Hard drives, :/
Friend of mine just paid $49. Can't bring myself to do it now :(
