  • Got mine when it first came out with a $269 Bundled with a game.

$199 is a pretty good price especially if you can bundle it with freedom wars.

OLED still trumps the new ones.

      • +1

I've had them side by side and the only difference I can see is that OLED is brighter at the same brightness setting and have more saturated colour.

I personally prefer IPS displays over OLED/AMOLED. Overly saturated colour isn't my thing. To each their own though.

Back to Nov 2013 pricing - JB had it for $199 last year around the same time with either Killzone Mercenary or some other beat'em'up title.

    Love my OLED Vita!

    • +1

I now have both. While the screen on the OLED version is great, it is hard to beat the reduction in weight and other improvements of the new version. That said, why you can't use the inbuilt 1gb memory when you have a memory card inserted is a mystery. Completely pointless.

if there was something to play on it, what a failure compared to psp.

    • +1

Yes… but PS4 remote play works quite well. They have started mapping the scope and trigger buttons to the Vita bumpers which at least makes most of the shooters playable.

    • Don't bother with a vita if you want physical media… Go digital

    • +1

There's actually stacks to play - I've got quite a backlog and keep buying stuff I know I'll never have time for.

    • Really drazenm, nothing? Surely you have no idea.
You call over 800 games available now for the Vita nothing?

  • Waiting out for EB Mad Monday next week. If nothing better comes out then this deal will be it :)

  • Plus delivery fee, pickup is not availible for me.

Guys, don't forget the $20 off deal from buying $50 gift card.

I bought my Vita + Freedom wars for $180 yesterday.

You just need to walk in and buy the $50 gift card and they will give you the voucher.

    • What's that about? Link?

    • Is is working for more $100 spend? I am going to use mine today. Cheers.

      • Yeah. I got my Vita bundle for effectively $180.

Is there even games being made for this anymore?

  • +2

i finally decided to get one for my kid (although all his mates his age plays the DS) and it is the better portable gaming console by far. The graphics are amazing and the screen size is just about right. At first glance, the games seems limited but I have since branched out from the "normal" popular games and tried some of the Japanese-influenced ones. And there are some great games out there !

    • +3

Talks about buying it for his kid but then talks about playing Japanese influenced games on it. LOL

      • +5

It's like he said, all the kids play DS so he just uses the vita himself lol good way to convince the wife though "it's for the kid!"

      • +2

Gosh am I so transparent ! LOL. Got a feeling my kid is gonna ask for an Xbox One next …

Not having much to play on there is a bit of a myth that's stuck from its earlier days. Sure, it doesn't have the volume of Nintendo's little sucker, but it does have content across:

      Sports
      Platformers
      FPS
      Action / adventure
      Puzzles
Lots of very good indie stuff
      RPG and JRPGs galore

      Had mine 12 months.

      • Recommended titles I've played so far

        P4G
        Demon Gaze
        Gravity Rush

I've only really played those three… recently added some more to my backlog…

  • I'm waiting for the 2002 console with a 16gb memcard deal for $200.
Just can't bear to buy the memory cards new at the prices they have DX.
It's funny though I've got quite a stack of Vita games I can't play yet ready though!

  • Great price for the vita, comparable to the retail price in Japan.
And if you need a memory card superufo is good value, and has capacities up to 64GB (I imported my vita and a 64GB card from them).

  • Have the older version and i got a pretty good deal as mines the 3g version.

I have a nice list of games and they are pretty good feature packed games as well…. shame jb don't sell memory cards greater then 16gb.

  • Hows the extra $20 off work?

  • Is this deal instore as well?

    • Yes. Trying to figure it out how to use my 20% voucher since TC shows maximum spend is $100.

  • With the 20% coupon deal added in I decided to do this.

I asked games to see what they could do on the price of one of the 16GB mem cards and they best priced it at $35. I dunno if they'll be able to do that again but we'll see.

Buy x4 $50 giftcards so you get 4x 20% off vouchers to get max $20 off each purchase.
buy the Vita bundle for $180 using one voucher. One vita and a game of your choice.
Then use another voucher to buy the memory card at $35=7 so $28.

So all together a Vita 2000 with Freedoom wars ($37) and a 16 gb mem card and two more vouchers to use later. So a total of $208 for all that. That and you get an Australian warranty with sony.

Not sure If I'll be able to get them to sell the memcard to me that low again as the memory card box I found had a price of 39.99 on it and the others had a price of $45.
Not sure If they'll let me return it then buy it again at the price I want with the coupon or not but I'll see.
If not well then I get all that at $215 which isn't too shabby either.
Only annoying thing is that they (well in my case) make you wait 24 hours to use the 20% off coupon.

  • Cool Got mine today so a few questions if anyone knows.
What region should I set it up as?
I'm thinking USA since I like the cheaper games (during fire sales they have).
Can I make my internal memory card a different region account then my ps vita memory card?
Do they do that stupid account locked save file thing on the vita too?
Is Freedom wars physical Australian online pass tied to only a AUS based Account or can I tie it to my USA account?
Any case recommendations? Heard Hardshells probably the best.

any idea when this will end? got my gift cards today and can't use them until tomorrow according to jb chadstone staff? called jb prarahn that confirmed i can buy and use straight away. something fishy is going on.

    • Yeah I think it's the difference between following what's on the coupon and actually seeing if it'll work. As we've seen from others on here the coupons do work same day. So I'm guessing the staff don't know out just want to make sure they're following the directions.
