Saw this in the current Big W catalogue. $5 off the following $50 gift cards (10% off):
GoodFood
Ticketmaster
Freedom
RedBalloon
Dusk
City Beach

The deal is really good if you have access to the Entertainment Book's 7.5% E-Wishcard… i.e. paying for these gift cards with the discounted Wishcard nets you a 17.5% discount.

Might be handy for some of the over priced furniture at Freedom (or hold onto them for the Boxing Day Sales).

Wish we'd see a Myer 10% off gift cards deal this summer.

    • I was just about to say that on here hehe!! Hoping for the Myer gift card sale again! Fingers crossed*

    Not quite 17.5%
You pay 92.5% of full price for the Big W gift card, then you get 10% off the 92.5% you're paying (92.5% - 9.25% = 83.25%).
    So it's 16.75% off.

      great work, pythagorus!

  • Good deal. I've got the Entertainment Book too.

  • Gift cards\vouchers for gift cards I don't think allowed?

    • On their system, it comes up as a product. I think you can't buy Wishcards with Wishcards, but buying non-WOW gift cards with Wishcards has worked before (see the Myer/Westfield/Big W loop deal posted on OZB a few months ago)

I might grab a Ticketmaster gift card. I'm sure I'll use that in the next 12 months.

Freedom Furniture is offering 20% discount for NRMA members between Dec 18-22. This deal would stack nicely with that offer:

    • Yep, just spoke with my local store to confirm. Seems like I'm stopping off at BigW first!

    • Thanks, 20% off NRMA combined with BigW 10% off saved me $420. FYI Narellan BigW is out of stock of freedom gift cards, Mac Square has stock left.

  • I wasn't able to do the double stack. I tried at the self serve checkout but it wouldn't set off the weight sensor, I was then told I couldn't purchase them at self serve as they need to be activated. At the checkout I was told I couldn't use my wish card to pay for a gift card. Still 10% off is still good.

    • Argh bugger. Just bought via Entertainment Book hoping to do this. I'll still try. God that weight sensor is annoying.

The 7.5% Big W wish card is still good for groceries and fuel at Woolies.

  • Anyone here a myfreedom member? There is a little extra discount on their site, so by the time I get a bunch of vouchers via BigW and then an extra $30 off with the member discount I'd be very grateful :)
