          LOL. Thanks guys.

happy to be negged - But for Aceboy884's benefit - wasnt havin a go at u mate. Just tongue in cheek.

    • -2

why can no longer be used? broken?

  • Thanks OP bought one

  • What price is this normally?

  • Which part of aus is this shipped from and what is he shipping time?

    Nvm.

Might y this one cause my xiomni stopped working cause the port had been pushed in and there's no way to fix it.

  • 10amps? 10amps at 5v? Thats a bloody ton of capacity

    • +2

10400mAh at 3.7V and factor in the conversion rate (given in the specs) and you get the real mAh this unit can deliver.

      • +1

The 85% figure is a bit misleading. It's easy to assume that you simply multiply 10.4Ah by 85% to get the real capacity.

The capacity of the cells is 10.4Ah at 3.7V, which is 38.48Wh. But we need 5V, so the voltage is stepped up with a boost converter. That's where the efficiency figure comes in.

        At 100% efficiency, 38.48Wh is 7.696Ah at 5V.
        At 85% efficiency, it's 6.54Ah.

So the true capacity at 5V is 6.54Ah, which is 62% of the stated 10.4Ah figure.

Your phone also has some inefficiencies when charging. From memory my tablet is about 95% efficient when charging with it switched off. It'll be lower if it's running of course. So that makes the effective true capacity with that specific device 6.21Ah.

        • +1

eug, I'm 99% sure you are correct, so 6.15Ah
          ;)

        • Xiaomi's are rated at 90%, so ((10400-10%) * 3.7) / 5

Edit: my assumption is these would be similar ratings.
Your calculations look about right though, they're usually more around the 90% mark though

        • +1

@dyl: The efficiency depends on the discharge current. I measured the Xiaomi 10400's efficiency and got 83.5% at 2A, 87.4% at 1.5A, and 91.4% at 1A. This one should be similar.

        • @eug: Cheers for the numbers. What equipment is needed to test something like that if I may ask? I've used cheap equipment off eBay to test things like maximum output current, though it really doesn't show much other than that.. And that's on a good day when it even works.

        • @dyl: I used a CBA III battery analyser for that. You can also use a logging multimeter and programmable load.

There are a few more details on the results in this post:

          Hope that helps!

  • nice one

  • Nice price if genuine.

  • Is this a subsidiary of Rozlinda lithiums?

  • +2

What's the difference between sailing4 (scorptec stock) and sense4?

    • I want to know the same as this, but I think the Sailing 4 is a premium version with better efficiency and probably more safety features.

  • -This one better than XiaoMi 10400, can charge more
-Input only 1A, slow charging, if empty, needs overnight

    • It should take about 12 hours at 1 amp. That's quite a while!

  • Grabbed one because I had some spare paypal credit, pretty good for $9.14 :)

  • Just bought one. Thanks OP!

  • +2

    bought one
    cheers OP

main diff in Specs as follow
    Sense 4
    - Size(cm): L9 x W3 x H2.1
    - Weight(gm): 74
    - Input Current: DC 5V / 2.1A Max
    - Output Current: DC 5V / 1A, DC 5V / 2.1A

    Sailing 4
    - Size(cm): L13.8 x W6.1 x H2.1
    - Weight(gm): 256
    - Input Current: DC 5V / 1A Max
    - Output Current: DC 5V / 1A, DC 5V / 2.1A

Also bought a Xiaomi 10400, will be interesting to compare the two

    • +1

That's a massive difference in size and weight.. are you sure that's comparing the same capacities?

      • not sure buddy
size looks ok but weight could be a typo
        got from their website

        • size looks ok but weight could be a typo

One is nearly four times the size and so is the weight! One will be around 2500mAh and the other around 10000mAh capacity. Hardly a fair comparison.

    • main diff in Specs as follow

Those specs are for totally different capacities! The Sailing 4 appears to be one with a quarter the capacity.

The sailing models have better batteries (LG or Samsung), better electronics and a torch built in.

  • out of stock?

  • Yeah out of stock.

    • It shown 40 Solds when the deal was posted. Now it's 256 solds. OZ bargained

  • WTF is self charge ?

  • taobao is cheaper……………

    • Yeah, but no, but yeah.

    • +1

There's always "cheaper" on the market, I believe we need a reliable one the supply genuine products and after sales services :)

  • This or xiaomi?

    • This. Dual output.

    • too late, out of stock

  • Are these good? Bought one on eBay from oz seller, poor quality and now doesn't work. Think I would rather spend a bit more and get one from a retailer like HN etc

    • +1

Are these good? Bought one on eBay from oz seller, poor quality and now doesn't work.

Buy from a reputable online retailer.

Think I would rather spend a bit more and get one from a retailer like HN etc

So you would rather spend three to five times as much as you need to?

  • +2

    Have both Xiaomi and this.

    Pros for Xiaomi:

    • Looks better
    • much smaller in size
    • charges faster

    Cons:
    - one output

    Pros for Romoss:

    • two outputs, 2A and 1A

    Cons:
    - big and heavy

Both are similar in terms of how many devices they can charge in normal use. No idea how they compare in terms of longevity.

    • +1

another pro for Romoss would be LED torch

      • another pro for Romoss would be LED torch

        Only on the Sailing4 models.

  • Generally these Chinese banks are not that well, had my xiamon for only less than a month from a couple of charges, then the usb mini port for the charge was pushed all the way in making it unusable.

    • +2

Are you sure that it's not a fake one?

There are so many fake Xiaomi batteries out there, I even asked my girlfriend to get me one from China and she got a fake one for me which broke down without me even using it.

I am not saying that yours can't be the real one because it broke down, but rather, fake ones break down so easily… Uggh

    • +1

You probably had a fake. My Xiaomi is good quality.

  • http://www.romoss.com/proview.php?ID=17&pID=1 <- I think is the right model. No branded batteries explicitly mentioned and looks a shape similar to huawei y550.

have $.42 yet to show up in cashrewards.

  • So I received mine today, started charging it in a fast charging port and my Tikbro 4 Port USB Charging Station I received from here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/168366 decided to blow up.

Beware. Overall the Romoss is legit, and very very high quality. I'd prefer one of these over my Anker but I haven't used any Ankers with the PowerIQ technology.

  • received mine today. seems good quality. currently charging. a lot heavier than i had anticipated :o

  • Received mine a few days ago. Seems top quality and recharged my HTC One quite quickly. Looking forward to taking it overseas to keep my devices powered while travelling.
