Razer Mamba 4G Razer Mamba Elite Ergonomic Gaming Mouse - $79.95 + P/H - Catch Of The Day

110

Was on the hunt for a replacement Razer Mamba and came across this. This is for the new model 4G 6400dpi.

This price is far cheaper than anywhere else I came across in my search (lowest I could find was $109 at Umart). You can also get an additional $8 off if you have yet to use your COTD birthday code 'BDAY' bringing it down to $71.95 + P/H.

good mouse (or mice???), can do both wireless and wired, grabbed mine when it was $150.
only complain is that the buttons tend to become squeaky, its kind of a on/off problem.

Squeaky? Like a real mouse when you squeeze it?

    • Hm? My mamba didn't have any squeaky sound at all. Mine was the first version mamba.

But yes it is a good mouse. Sturdy and nice build but the only issue I have is the cover layer peels off after many years of use.

      • i got the 2013 version the left click is sometimes squeaky :/

I've never had issues with squeaking or peeling, mine has been dropped several times onto a tiled floor and still works. Only issue I have found is that the battery seems to not be holding charge the way it used to… this may also be due to the Mamba on tile action….. but it was time for an upgrade anyway!

    • How old is your mouse? Mine is 5 years old :p

      • At least 3-4 years, I'm fairly certain my current one is the original Mamba not the 2012 (can't be certain though :P)

After 3 to 4 years and several hundred charge-deplete cycles, any Li-Ion battery pack's capacity is going to be reduced.

The problem with the Mamba is that it uses a proprietary battery pack that's not easy to find and costs a lot more than a AA Eneloop which the G700S uses for instance, and which can charge via a multitude of external chargers (not just via the mouse itself; so you can have fully-charged batteries ready to go all the time).

  • Hey the THANKYOU code worked for me :) saved $10.00

    • ohh boo! I didn't know about that code! Oh well! :P

  • Nice mouse I own one of these. However as mentioned above by my rubber finger grips have peeled off and I had to superglue them back on. Not a deal breaker but I do hope this latest generation is better built. I also stopped using it wirelessly as the battery life got worse and worse. Terrific as a corded mouse but after paying $120 for it years ago I feel like I could've had the same outcome with a much less expensive mouse.

    • Same here. Owned the first gen version and the finger grips peeled off and the rubbery coat started to scratch off.

  • I have 4G and the prior model. 4G battery went within a year, had to revert to cable. Both have issues with squeaky buttons & noisey mouse wheel. Also the is a plastic (strip) tab which helps you get the battery out, it didn't last the year on either - and only x1 battery. The feet become very easily scratched and stick, the also accumulate dust like nothing I've ever seen. I truly don't recommend unless the Uber brand name makes you hot under the collar.

I also use 2x Logitach G7 cordless mice paired with a couple of G15 keyboards, absolutely awesome.
