Fujifilm Finepix XP70 for $59 @ Kmart Parramatta NSW

410

Lady at counter said there were $189 originally. At work. Will edit later. Just picked up camera

(Edit) bought this for the beach since the best rugged camera I could save up for was around $350. Now I got one for a lot less, it doesn't have true GPS but I read you can hook it up to your phone for geo tagging.

Basic point and shoot and my heart won't be broken if someone steals it at the beach.

        • @KSS:
Press ?123 button then =\< button, it will give you $ sign.

        • On some keyboards, if you long press the £ key, it'll give you other currencies.

  • I'm guessing a very limited deal but still sweet

  • Very good find! Cheers

  • Nice. Pity no GPS.

    Other clearance cameras:
    $25 - Canon IXUS 145
    $39 - Samsung WB35F
    $59 - Fujifilm finepix S8600

    I bought the IXUS145 for $39 a week ago :( It's now $5 after cashback.

    • me too :(

    • It's now $5 after cashback.

      What cashback?

    • Anyone got a receipt of the IXUS 145 for $25, need one for price protection claim lol.

      • For those looking for a receipt thatguy has kindly posted one here.

    • Took a good look at the S8600. Who the hell builds a 36x superzoom with no viewfinder and 3 aperture settings. It doesn't have an aperture mode because it would be a joke. Many of the handful of reviews I found said it took blurry images.

    • where can I purchase the Fujifilm finepix S8600 for $59? From any K-Mart Store or just the Parramatta store?

      • I saw it at Redbank, QLD, You should be able to get it from any Kmart with stock.

  • Sold out @ parra kmart

  • This is not at other Kmarts as I was just looking at this camera yesterday, they did have other cheap cameras though.

    • +2

I bought one from Merrylands. There are still several in stock.

      I bought one from Hornsby @ $59

      • +1

I bought last one from hornsby just now. Had it reserved since morning. My 6 y.o. will be very happy.

  • Word of warning about the XP70. I had an earlier model (XP120 or XP150). The seals on all these waterproof cameras are awful and even with light casual use you'll likely only use it a couple of dozen times if you're very lucky before you get water incursion that isn't covered by warranty. (No doubt someone will come on and tell me how theirs has lasted years and years but if you look at the reviews you'll see for the most part I'm right).

Use it as splashproof rather than taking it under water if you want it to last.

Use it as a disposable camera if you want those underwater shots and don't care about burning $59.

Saves yourself a lot of grief and disappointment.

    • Ive had a XP50 for years and the seal is great, its been underwater lots of times and even waterbomb park bali, in fact just took it to the beach today :D
Always make sure the seal area is clean and dirt free and let the camera "air out" after underwater usage (leave lid open)
Just checked mine after the swim today, dry inside.

See I predicted right ;-) You were lucky.

I looked up my camera in my receipts and in my image files. It was an XP20. The seal was awful. 2 doors not 1 and you had to claw at it hard to open it and shove it in hard to close it and you were never quite sure it latched. I'm surprised it worked at all. Biggest waste of $179 I've had in a long time.

One third of the reviews are 1 star, most of those telling you it's not waterproof:

i think we are talking about XP70, and the proper link should be

          http://www.amazon.com/Fujifilm-Digital-Camera-2-7-Inch-Yello…

they actually have 4 stars overall, much better than Xp20.

        • @coolness79:

If you read my comments you'll see I bought a previous model (XP20) and was disappointed it failed, especially at the price I paid. I don't trust the rubber seals on any of these underwater cameras. It doesn't matter what model if you go to Amazon and look at 1 star reviews you'll have one or more reviews that mention the camera failed due to water incursion that wasn't covered by warranty. Some camera models are definitely worse than others. The XP20 was one of the worse ones.

    • Will take both the advice from above- take care with keeping the seals clean and rate it carefactor:zero (disposable) due to the price.
      Cheers OP

    • Yes I went to all 3 Kmarts today!!!

Kudos and a cookie for you.

    • Broadway Kmart sells camera? Dang it, I asked the staff there and she said they don't! Didn't see any cameras on display too

      • Sure do! They have a glass cabinet. I contemplated purchasing the demo unit. That girl was probably just being a lazy muthafkker like all Kmart employees are…

  • thanks op picked one up today. kmart south morang still had about 6. cheers

    Chadstone had 4, I grabbed 2!

  • Now I'm home and tinkering with my new camera, what's the best SD card to buy for it?

Been checking ozbargain but would rather buy from a local store than Amazon.

Don't need bells and whistles, just for it to take pictures and record @ full hd.

Bondi store doesn't have any more. If anybody still wants these get your local store to do a SOH inquiry on the PDT units. There's been a tonne of work for the staff actioning boxing day clearance items and it's likely there's more out the back not on show. (Not at Bondi, 0 left, speaking generally in NSW) Politely ask the team member at the service desk or a manager to do a SOH inquiry for you. I saw an above comment that the staff are "probably just being a lazy ****** like all Kmart employees are…" which would not be true. It's more likely that the store had already ran out of stock because clearances generally are always on show (In order to actually sell them and they dont gather dust) so please dont be abusive to the team member.

Ha! Bugger. I just bought the XP70 on Monday for $199 @ HN - and I thought I got a bargain!!!

Anyway happy to have scored other bargains so far this year via OzBargain so happy to count my blessings than complain …

  • Rang my local store and they said $89! will show them your pic and get them to match. They have seven in stock up here.

    • +1

could be the price tag, but when scanned it is lower.

      • +2

It was $89 for boxing day clearances but it's gone down again. It will scan up $59

        • Yes you are both correct. Scanned at $59ea! About 5 left at Kmart Townsville. Thanks OP great deal.

  • Don't suppose anyone would be willing to track one down and purchase one for me? I'd pay for your trouble! I live in Adelaide :/

  • K mart Greensborough VIC has one Fujifilm XP70 as at 9.00am this morning.

  • Still a few at Kmart Bankstown.

  • Apparently Kmart only stock the orange version.. Can anyone else confirm? Thanks

  • I only saw orange ones.

Also have an XP10 still going after countless trips tomthe beach and pool. They take the same battery as the XP70 and I even have an external charger, which is a big bonus.

  • I bought two Canon 145's on the same receipt. I went to the Canon site to do the cashback, but there is only space to enter one serial number for one item. Do I have to take the cameras back to KMart, get a refund, then buy them again on separate receipts? Or is there a way to get the cashback on both with doing that?

    • do u qualify for double cashback?
if not.. they need to be on separate receipts?

      • Just two 145's on the one receipt. So a total of $50. And sorry - it should have said "withOUT doing that" above.

        • Did the same thing. Rang Cannon and they said they must be on individual receipts, so I went back and repurchased. Worked fine but like everyone, no confirmation emails.

  • Sold out at Marion

  • Sold out at kmart belmomt, cannington, midland - western australia

  • 15+ units left at Morayfield. Sorry 14. :)
