Hosting Reseller Who Handles Support and/or White Label?

Hello :)

I have a Web Design & Development agency and I am looking for a reseller program and/or white label facility.

I do not want to handle support though. So I am looking for a reseller who accommodates this.

If my resold clients have an issue I want the reseller to support them.

Any suggestions, advice or help? Thank you

GoDaddy has the setup that I want, but I do not like GoDaddy or their hosting. So I am looking for an Australian alternative.

Thank you for your help :)

You will need to think about what issues there are to be handled by you. Hosting providers aren't usually web developers, so if clients have issues related to web development (such as PHP etc), you might have to fix that for them.
Most hosting providers just make sure that the server is up, software is up to date and secure, and things like email setup, subdomain setup.

    • thanks clse! Yeah if it's truly tech we can handle it

How much are you willing to pay per year? As hosting + support for your clients in Australia is not cheap.

    • Well if it's just hosting, I'd expect to pay around $25 to $35 for a hosting reseller package. Now I have found out about 3rd party hosting support, like this one: http://bobcares.com/reseller-plan.html

Which is $2 / mo per resold client

I have quite a few clients who I host for through TPP (Netregistry wholesale arm). I look after renewals and handle any issues TPP might have on their side so the customer's site remains active working and valid. However, I do not do web coding, so if there are any issues with the site itself, completely separate to the hosting, it is back to the web developer to fix.

So, I'm not sure this is what you're after.

It is a problem often as there can sometimes be issues that could be either TPPs hosting problem OR the web site developer's problem and it becomes a case of handballing. For example. The default memory size PHP wise is 80Mb on TPP. Recently a few customer's web sites stopped working before Christmas traced back to this limit. The limit is globally set by TPP. HOWEVER with admin access (which was given to the developer) you can apparently modify some config files in the root directory and you can set bigger limits.

So initially I had the web developer saying TPP should change the memory size, I had TPP saying change it on an individual site basis yourself.

In the end I decided the web developer needed to sort it out and after a bit of grumbling they did and everything now works again, but if you're looking to build a web site, hand it over to a reseller to host then wash your hands of it, then this is not something we would take on.

Unless I'm mis understanding your post in which case ignore everything I just said. :)

Hi Ramrunner! Thanks for being helpful!

I have web developers on hand and am not worried about providing coding support.

You said you look after renewals and handle any issues TPP might have - that's exactly what I dont want to do. I want my host or someone else to deal with stuff like that.

      Cheers mate

  • I do know that Web24 have a reseller plan that allows you to white label their services.
They do provide support for all issues related to their infrastructure, and their tech support would let you know if the issue is coding related and is out of their scope.

    • Awesome thanks sanstorm! Just checked out their page, it's not very clear if it's white label or not so I left them a message.

      • The issues with Web24 is that for $40/mo you only get 10gb disk space and 20 bandwidth is not much if you plan on reselling.

      • No problem!
Do let us know whom you decided to go with in the end, and why :)
