  • Sorry if noob question, but does this mean $299 for all three items or am I missing something? Thanks in advance

I believe so, 1 from each group.

Can anyone comment on what they think of the VelociRaptor Thunderbolt Drive if they own one

    • +1

It's one hellova name, so umm bragging rights? :P

    • Seems faster than thunderbolts

    • Seriously though, from a quick google, you need a thunderbolt port… I don't think these are very mainstream, so that would plague it for years! (correct me if I'm wrong!)

      • +2

I think any mac made in the last couple years has at least one thunderbolt port.

        • My bad, not a mac guy :P

        • @Spackbace: I'd be surprised if you couldn't buy PC thunderbolt cards but it would need to take an expansion slot if I am mistaken (so it isn't bottlenecked by another slower interface).

I am not an expert, could be wrong.

    • VelociRaptor HDD is 2x-3x faster than most regular 7200rmp on random access

Depends on what you are going to use it for.

Ie. For backup purpose : its not best value, at 2TB. Its dual drive so i suspect 2x 1TB. Yes its lightning connection so fast for a mac user but then you dont really need the speed from 10,000 rpm drive speed for backing up and yet you pay a premium for it. 2TB is arguably small capacity at this price compared to a standard backup hdd.

For expanding your limited mac desktop or laptop (where u have a lightning connector)…maybe some value. Its high spindle speed drive and connection so will help as a scratch drive for video and graphics editing. Minimise the wear on your built in hdd or ssd. And if it dies u dont kill ur main drive.

So maybe of value as a scratch or extending storage drive (not for average every day user), not such good value as a backup device.

    My take…feel free to agree/disagree

    group B is meh
    group C more meh

  • Does that mean the laptop does not come with power supply as one is listed in group b?

    • +2

laptop is brand new with power supply. If you need spare for your workplace etc, the Group B option will be ideal for you.

    It's a transmitter, not a receiver.

  • Damn, no ASUS Routers this time.

    Any chance for a GPU

    • I would have bought the Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming they had in November for $449 except I didn't have the cash. Now I do and I'll be looking at buying through Amazon unless I can get a decent deal on a 970 in Australia.

    • Hi jacobb,

      Our GPU deal is here

      cheers

  • Still waiting on a bargain for an Intel NUC or Gigabyte Brix.

  • Hey SEany upcoming deals on ssd? Looking at 500gb model :)

  • +1

No deal if you pick those items:

    Seagate 480GB SSD $249
    Logitech H340 USB Headset $29
    Belkin Pure AV2 2-Outlet SurgeCube $21
    Total $299

  • beauty, got myself 1 of those Jabras, looks good, other 2 items are just bonuses :)

  • Damn,

Yesterday I got the D-Link DNS-345 because I was after a NAS, and just grabbed some speakers and a laptop bag (which I also needed) then today they took the speakers out (which I only got because nothing else there was any use to me) and replaced it with a Logitech Harmony Remote 915-000249 which would of been ideal for me since I have 6 remotes and my cat likes to knock them down and all over the house.

  • Looks like the items just changed.
