  I remember when games used to come on 4 discs so that all the content they had was there.
  Nowadays you pay $70 for a game and only get a small snippet of it, and then have to pay for and download "DLC". Utter BS. Release DLC should not exist. Preorder DLC is just as bad.

    Pre-orders are bad, mkay?

    I also remember the old days when you could try a demo of the game before you buy it. This gave an incentive for the game developers to ensure that the game was actually good and playable when it shipped.

    Now they're just releasing half baked ones in order to sate the pre-order buyers and then patching the game to a fully enjoyable state 4 months down the track. Not that it matters right? So long as the game (barely) runs and has the core functionality, it's a finished product…

      I also remember the old days when you couldn't download demos, needed to buy a game magazine for the CD…

      Now can't even play half the games without an internet connection (absolutely hate Ubisoft DRM). At least pre-order still better than early access… Game is only half developed yet they expect you to pay retail price, ends up with a half assed game with half the content they promised or is in EA for a very very long time.
