    http://au.pcmag.com/hp-passport-1912nm/5777/review/hp-passpo…

Haha even in 2012 it got a 2.5 star rating…

    • upgradable? (browsers do change)
      android or linux inside?

      • No WiFi

  • Ti OMAP 4430… that's less computing power than a Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

    • Which was 100x more than required to land on the Moon.

      • In the day when programmers were intimate with machine code and programmed in low level languages.

I'm very confused - what is "the Web1", and I just need to "Connect to the Ethernet" ??

    • "Connect to the Ethernet" ??

This machine doesn't have Wifi, so the only connectivity you have is via ethernet (LAN).

      • Yes, but no mention of the need for a router, DHCP, NAT, ….
It's as if George Brandis has designed it.

  • I don't know why but I want it :S

    • I don't know either ;)

    • I don't know why, but it looks like an old pento pad on steroids!

Does it have a countdown window in one of the corners of the screen, lol?

    • Your internet session has expired. Please insert coin ($2 only) to continue for (5) minutes.

I'd rather not continue, if you don't mind.

  • What happens when the browser is out of date in a few months time?

  • Crud.

  • jesus christ

i'm surprised such a device even exists… i'm tempted to buy one just to see how shitty it is

    and this:

This is a bare bones Internet device; you don't get any internal storage, it lacks Wi-Fi networking capabilities, and there are no touch screen capabilities.

    no wifi

    wtf

    very very dumb screen

I'm more surprised that they claimed this:

      Revolutionize guest Internet access

      like its the year 2005…

Pretty sure what is revolutionary nowadays is free wifi access?

Why would anyone use the grubby, slow and malware laden computer in the reception room when you can just browse on a smartphone or tablet.

      • Because there is no point loading malware onto your own phone or tablet. :P

To be fair, at $69, it really would have been revolutionary in 2005 :).

  • Vga the only input. Sorry no matter how cheap that's a no no.

Dang, can't even use the thing as a monitor. Boat anchor?

        This model isn't waterproof.

Maybe you could replace a PHB's computer with this and claim to have "upgraded it to windows 10?".

  • View angle: 90° horizontal, 50° vertical

You want to pay for this bad joke?

  • Could you install Ubuntu on this?
