Cookwell Baby Food Blender $15, Cookwell Electric Mixer $20 @ Homeart Springfield QLD

20

I was in Homeart at Springfield (QLD) today and they were having a closing down sale. I picked up a Cookwell Electric Mixer for $20 (box marked $99) and a Cookwell Baby Food Blender for $15 (Box marked $119). I was not previously aware of the Cookwell brand but they seem to work effectively and comes with 12 month warranty.

I also noticed metal walking sticks for $5.

I assume the sale will last until they liquidate all stock or the lease ends.

  • What's the baby blender like

    • We did a trial run just once (as Baby is still not quite here yet) and quite liked it. I haven't seen other "baby food blender" products out there just yet, which is why it got out attention. Essentially, it is a steamer and a basic blender (only one type of blade) all in one contraption. We tested it out on one carrot as follows. Filled water tank (180mL if I recall correctly). Set timer up to 30 mins to activate steaming. When timer goes off, turn on the blending function. Complete. It worked as expected and it seems to deliver it's $15 value. The minor downside to is that steaming and blending are two separated processes that each need some manual operation. To clean, I just rinsed the bowl and blade under the tap.

Some might argue that the product is unnecessary because you can use a pot and blender (which most households probably already have) to do the same thing. I argue that it's less cleaning and helps to keep baby's food away from other kitchen equipment that we use for meat and other potentially unsafe things for the baby.

Too small to fit a whole one, wouldn't you say?

      • Isn't that how they make baby oil?
