I am not a battery fiend. My 3 cordless phones currently use 2 x AAA NiMh batteries. They have lasted for a coupla / few years, cheapies from somewhere via ebay.
Should I think about using something else, or just get some more?

Ok thanks for that. I found them on gadgetcity in AU, so hopefully will get here quickly as the phones are fading fast.
Nothing wrong with Nimh. Can either use cheapies or spend more and get Eneloops (sadly, made in China now, so not as good as they used to be) or you can also get Varta batteries — German brand.
Here on eBay, $8 for a pack of 4 cells, with free delivery.
