Lost my phone, what should I do?

Hi guys,

I've recently lost my phone. 1 hour after I realized,I asked my friend to call my phone.
It was ringing but no one pickup, second tome it was switched off. I went to restaurant where I lost my phone and asked staff whether they saw it but no one seen it. I tried to locate using android device manager but it said can't locate; maybe someone who took it already switched off the gps. I also try to send ring to my phone and send lock message. FYI, I have all my internet banking apps in that phone. I already went to optus and change the new SIM (with same number). Should I report to police (in case someone misuse my phone)? Should I called optus to block my IMEI as well? Need your advice guys. Thanks

  • FYI, I have all my internet banking apps in that phone.

First thing you should do is to call your bank and get them to reset the passwords to an email address not associated with your phone.

  • Slim chance of ever seeing it again.
    change all passwords also.

also call your phone carrier to stop any possible use of your sim card.
Do it today as it takes about a day for IMei to be blocked.

  • Should I report to police (in case someone misuse my phone)?

    Do it as a priority.

Go to the Australian Mobile Telephone associations website here http://www.lost.amta.org.au/ for instructions on how to remotely lock your handset for free.
And then also report it to the police. Tell them you'd like to fill out a 'lost property report'. If you're really lucky someone might actually hand it in but also it will protect you as you mentioned above.

perhaps have you tried looking for it?
