  • reasonable systems but better check for issues online before make a decision

can be useful deploy in small business after conversion to SSD and further servicing

however that will make the cost 300 more to convert them to a 250GB SSD dual HD 8GB ram model

  • When you said not brand new do you not mean not the newest model? Because not brand new to me would mean it's a used or refurbished product.

Also not having a touchscreen really hurts imo, but it's budget if you don't have a monitor and this happened to be your monitor(?).

    A 2nd generation i5 computer is what? 2011 tech?

RTF[Deal]: It's "ex lease" (return from Lease); how long out on lease, we don't know. Was it only surface-cleaned on return? Or, did leasers run HP (or others') test software? 'dunno.

Did vendors just buy a teetering stack of these, on a pallet, at auction? Or are they the leasers, who (carefully) took them back from one or more renters?

Which i5 (if it is) is in the box? i5's are still being offered, new, in smaller-screened Win tab's, but where does this one fit?

If HP have taken the trouble to design this all-in-one, do they possibly have a sibling model, eg, WITH a touch screen? etc.

An OP might do a bit of detective work, to add value to his/her claim that it's a Deal, as a matter of Courtesy to the community.

Vendor's (short) warranty period would be also be useful…

OP, we can't assess this (as deal or no deal), ie, -without- a hint of its spec's… or a URL link to them (at an HP site), in lieu.

Should all readers have to look for them? Or, in the interest of Efficiency, should the OP do that (once, for all)? I say: the OP, as a Courtesy.

Why do you say it's a Deal? An OP would need to know its spec's, on which to base a decision, that it's good value.

IMO, this is Not a Deal.

Contrast with other somewhat similar Deals:

HP Slate 21 -and- AOC's 21.5" touchscreen AIO's running Android, with lotsa ports (5-7 USB, AOC's has different types of USB jacks; maybe an HDMI-input (AOC only; works w/ Chromecast), SDCARD, etc.) have sold NEW for ~$300, ie, cheaper than an external hard drive with WiFi, although it might offer the same function, as well as most of thos of an Android system (albeit with a slower CPU).

Stretch & give us some context, if you can, next time.

      Still, thanks for trying…

Would be a similar configuration to this

        http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0%2c2817%2c2398190%2c00.asp?ta…

That took about 30seconds to google

Pls don't be so rude to the OP. Not their job todo all your homework for you if you are interested in the deal.

And FYI. Those android tablet alternatives you suggested…Have you ever used them? Because they are a straight out POS. and if you think android OS can replace full windows you are high

I see you as an apologist for the OP, ie,
rather than someone who takes initiatives
to improve your world, by suggestion.

You could say I offered "too many" sugg'ns.
          That's fair comment for some.

Others will see "more value" in it,

If I offer nil suggestions, s/he'll feel
it was a Great Deal article; it wasn't, IMO.

I expect a bit more, from us & our vendors. :-)

PS Feel free to critique MY past Deal articles. ;-)

        • Re: Android-based HP Slate 21 & comparable AOC AIO's

If you had visibility issues or ran a business,
a big (even 21.5") touchscreen could make
reading text )& sites) or taking orders from walk-ins much easier, resp.

Don't judge a device, 'til you've heard what it's to be used for.

PS Young kids & those who have issues keying might find one of those AIOs easier to use than smaller screen tabs.

This is the reason I don't usually post any deals. I don't have the time to go into all that detail of the specs and price comparisons and while it is sometimes nice to have these things, I don't really think that deal posters should have to go to that length.

There have been times when I have come across a great deal and would love to share it, but I know there are those like IVI who won't like my quick and dirty post, so I didn't bother posting it. Often the deal will be picked up and posted by someone else though so, as long as it's shared, that's okay by me.

Yes IVI, I am an apologist for the OP, rather than someone who takes initiatives, but the OP took the initiative to make this post. So thanks elanur. You should keep posting these deals even without all the details and comparison shopping.

        • Also OP is first time poster with L plate. And plus, I have found commenters on this site to be extremely helpful. 90% of the time it's more helpful than the OP.

        • @Kanasuke: I agree. That 90% of helpful comments are mostly the reason I keep coming back.

I would think this would be the around going rate on these as the company i work for is flogging off the 8300 model for about 500.

But still if you knew some oldies that need a full sized PC for web browsing, office apps ect. You could do a lot worse for your money(Those AOC AIO POS mentioned above come to mind). Only real real problem is they ain't exactly sexy beasts.

Are the headphones ex-lease? Yuck! Imagine how much it would cost if it had an apple badge…

  • I reckon this is pretty decent specs for the price. A comparably new I5 build would cost $600 with a monitor.

Sorry guys it was my first deal that I have put up and am still learning, but I thought it was a good deal according to the specs.

    • +1

No need to apologise. It was better than my first post (probably better than my subsequent posts as well…).

  • dated hardware and just 3 months warranty, if push comes to shove i'd rather take my chances on ebay or gumtree for something similar and maybe cheaper too, if it came with 12 months warranty or newer hardware it's ok
