iD2 Micro USB -> Lightning Adapter $4.77 Click & Collect @ Dick Smith

170

As someone that owns an iPad and a Note 3, this adapter is an easy way for me to carry both a lightning and a micro USB cord.

So long you use a half decent micro USB cord, iOS 8 has no problem with this adapter.

Click and collect seems to be there for most stores.

better off, buying the juiceup! power bank when DS sells them for $5, it comes with this adapter and you get a Powerbank for almost the same price.

    • juiceup! power

That's exactly what i tell my friends to do just before they start their gym session

    • Really now? I'll take a look at that, I've never seen it come with this adapter.

    • You mean the "Juice Up 2200mAh Powerbank"? or "Juice Up! Emergency Keyring Power Bank"?
      Neither mention any adapter…

      • I'm not 100% sure about the difference between the 2. I just remember seeing them in-stores and they had the lightning adapter in the package. The ones I looked at were Pink so perhaps it's the Juice Up 2200mAh Powerbank, considering there is no pink Juice Up! Emergency Keyring Power Bank listed. Best to probably call them or go in-stores if you really need to know.

    • There was a recall on the juiceups late last year https://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/106683…

      • I wonder why DS is still selling them then :S

So long you use a half decent micro USB cord,

or this is just a sale gimmick so apple can release their own $49 microUSB cable or the iCable

    • I think iOS 8 can tell when there isn't enough current running through the cable, and that's what prompts the error.

    • I've tried two from HK already and they just didn't work, I guess in the end same with all cords/cables, it's a risk you have to take.

    • I have one of these. Charges fine, but doesn't work when you try and sync data onto a computer.

  • Any reason this wouldn't work with iPhone 6 (not listed in applicable models) ?

It's not a MFi adapter… so it's not guaranteed to work.

Non-MFi adapters have been known to stop working with some iOS updates, they are also tend to be low quality.

  • I'm only getting delivery only.am I doing something wrong? I'm using my mobile phone

Mobile version doesn't let you click and collect. Switch to the desktop site.

  • OP How do you use a micro USB cable with Note 3 it has usb 3 no?

  • This is too expensive if it's not MFi certified. Does anyone know if it is?

  • I bought this a while ago for about $15. It crapped out in less than a week and I got it refunded.

    • Same brand from DSE?

I've had mine for about 3 weeks, kept the receipt just in case. I bought another one last night because at uni my Xiaomi 16k power bank is everyone's bitch.

      • Yep, this brand from DSE. I might have gotten a faulty unit - the salesperson seemed genuinely baffled by the fact that it didn't work.
I ended up buying 2 "Original" ones from Groupon which have been working fine for me for the last few months.

        • Interesting. I'll see how long this one holds up for me, I've got a lot of hope for it.
