You forget the fine line:

  • 6.30% pa bonus interest will only be payable on the first $250,000 of the savings account balance. No interest is paid on the portion of the savings account balance over $250,000.

Although,

  1. It is unlikely that a tertiary student would have 250k cash in the bank.
  2. You won’t put that in the bank earning 6.3% if you have 250k.
