Great price on OzBargain's favourite umbrellas, but you need to arrange pickup as delivery is way too expensive. Good luck!

EDIT: Beaten by 6 seconds. LOL
Got these umbrellas about a year ago, not that strong, even in slight wind, so beware of that, one umbrella just broke after only having it open for 5 minutes due to a short gust of wind.
If there is any wind don't bother using it, once I had to walk in the rain as there was a slight wind and opening it would have simply just destroyed the umbrella.
Not my experience. A few weeks ago we had a big storm in Brisbane with very strong winds and the umbrella held up fine. The wind was so strong that it was blowing the rain vertically so I still got soaked from the waist down anyway but no damage to my Woodworm.
nah its crap, got out of the car and with any horizontal wind say good bye to these umbrellas, I only have 2 left which can and only be used in normal rain. I had a second one that I used in slight wind and was lucky it didn't break as well as it pulled at it and if I didn't baby it with the wind it was a gonna too, closed it and walked in the rain about 100m to the car.
These umbrellas are not like the old days of golf umbrellas, these are basically large umbrellas with the same strength of small cheapies except more brittle as when they get taken by the wind they will usually go.
personally these are sun shade umbrellas really.
Are there any umbrellas that would survive horizontal winds?.
for sure, get a proper golf umbrella no problems, Here I'm not talking about super winds either btw just a normal slight gust from time to time, not huge.
Umbrellas should be able to handle those…@Stringr:
yes. Storm proof… some even had tracking capabilityHere is another good brand umbrella can withheld 100km/h of strong wind.
Looks weird, but it works ~
@solartommy: If it was up to me, I would have designed the longer bit at the front, to provide protection from rain.
$129 + shipping for an umbrella (on pre-order no less)? Does it make coffee, toast and run your errands too? Cause at that price it better!
It was $14.95 when I ordered last time:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/190979?page=1#commentyes I order for same price last time.
I pick up this one. It's a good price for me.
I don't know anything about umbrellas as i do not own one. Was thinking of purchasing an umbrella for the first time.
Does anyone know how it looks like when closed? Will it'd still be massive or tucked away like the second link?
