RM Williams Craftsman Boots $200 - in Store @ Rays Outdoors

610

Available in black and chestnut.. RRP $440 at RM Williams. I couldnt find them on line but appears nationwide.. I purchased a pair in Regional WA but also ordered a pair in store from NSW at same price.

Also worth mentioning they scanned as full retail @ $200 so I received $20 store credit with Rays Rewards membership.

  • How'd you get them from NSW? Ring them?

    • Black and chestnut both scanned at $200. I bought chestnut and as they didnt have black in my size the store ordered me a pair in from another store.

      • Nice work. Will check it out tomorrow. Do you know if they had multiple widths? (G,h)

        • Not sure but the girl in store was quickly able to look on the computer and tell me who had stock and what colour/size, then confirmed with a phone call to the store.

Just did a call around, most stores have no stock and if they do they are ussually stockyard.

    They are clearing all stock

    • +2

Can you please tell us what stores you have called?

    • Which stores do you mean? The ones in nsw like lidcombe?

      • did you check lidcombe?

    • what stores have you called?

      • +2

        hey sorry for the delay.

i contcted all of nsw… only store that has stock is newcastle one.

        • thanks

    • Which stores did you call? Have you called Lidcombe?

      • +1

Yep I contacted lidcombe they advised me they had none

  • +1

Does anyone know if Rays stock the H sizes or just the standard G.

Also has anyone had any experience exchanging them at RM Williams?

  • Are these shoes really that good for $200-$440 or are they designer?

    • +3

Yes. High quality materials and manufacturing. Made in Australia.

    • +4

The prime minister of Australia and government officials wear them. A lot of the students and staff at my university wear them too. Judging from that, I would say they're a quality brand.

      • +3

The Defense Force also has them contracted to make almost all of their boots. Seems like a good endorsement.

  • Will call them up tomorrow. Hopefully they'll have some size 8s in stock.

  • +1

if you could get one even close to your size you could then send it to rmw who will relast it for a fee to make it your size.

Will still end up cheaper than purchasing them at full retail

    • Does relasting involve changing the boot's size? I thought it only repairs the inner sole.

      • +1

can change size as well. I was told up one size & down 2 sizes. Recently had mine down to a 10h from a 10.5h

        • Ah ok thanks. Any ideas what it would cost to do this at an rm williams store? I saw a website offering relasting for $175.

        • @pizzaofpeace: Pretty sure mine was $130ish all up. They send them back to head office & it can take up to a month. Give them a call, they're very helpful

        • @thedavemiester: Thanks a bunch. I didn't manage to get a pair from this sale though, and David Jones isn't stocking the boots anymore. Kind of getting worried about the dwindling number of stores that sell RM Williams Boots.

        • @thedavemiester: Also, what do you think about Nungar co? I was thinking of getting a pair from there if there aren't any more sales on RM Williams for the rest of the year.

  • Rothwell qld have 1x size 13 and a few size 7,7.5

    No good for me unfortunately.

    They're comfort craftsmans as well

    All g width

    • do rm boots use standard sizes?

      • I think they run large. I normally wear a 12-13 and I just tried on my brother's 12H's and they are at least a size too big for me.

        • +1

thats probably because H is wider shoe so makes it bigger overall.

  • +1

Lidcombe staff said all NSW stock are gone but there is stock left in VIC

    • +1

Called rays@preston, vic. They have size 10.

      • +1

        Not any more ;-)

  • EDIT Don't worry. Made a mistake

  • +5

For VIC: None at Nunawading or Mentone, 1 on hold at Brighton (good work someone) and apparently Frankston had a size 13 and I think they said some 5's (?? They were very small) as of 10 mins ago.

    • Thank you Notoobly

  • +1

A lot of doctors wear them in Australia. They are a great combination of practical and professional

Ugly boots… can't wear them with my $2000 suits.

    • +1

Don't know if you're trying to be funny, or you're actually a cheap GOB Bluth.

      • he must only wear ugg boots…

  • none at SA Elizabeth

    • None in South Australia full stop. Just spoke to the manager at Main North shop. They've had people asking all morning.

  • They're letting me I can't buy them over the phone… is anyone else having the same issue?

    • which store was that?

  • +2

    None at camperdown.

  • +1

None at Domain Central in Townsville. Lady behind the counter said they don't stock them…

  • Anyone know if there is any in Perth? Tried Joondalup and Myaree

  • I rang my local and she said only the rural stores (Shep, Ballarat or Geelong) would have them. Liar.

    Awesome deal! Thanks OP.
To those who think $440 is overpriced, consider this. I have bought boots for $150-$250 and after a few years they are trashed. My Dad and some of his mates have owned theirs for over 30 yrs and they still look good. Needed a couple of re-sole jobs though. Bought a pair of these and $250 Floorsheim boots in the same week. RMs were super comfy from the first wear. Florahes had my heels and toes in agony for the first 8-10 wears.

  • +1

    None in stock Toowoomba

  • wish this deal was doable.. had my first pair for 15 years and treated em bad… remember always put shoe trees in them.. and occasionally leather treat them and every few years resole.. they are lifers treated right and craftsman is their signature boot hence why everyone ringing store, sold out etc. kudos to OG who got the chestnut and black craftsman pairs for $400 total. their 2 best pairs/colours. nice saving of $440 :) and i want a new pair for winter too.. if u buy equivalent UK or American boots in this style they will set u back more than $440AUD too.. esp now AUD is no good again. u can read 279 pages of loyal RM fans here too :)

They have their annual clearance sale in Adelaide Showgrounds from June 18-28 if anybody is interested: http://www.aeec.com.au/events/2015/06/18/rm-williams-mid-yea…

    • Any idea what kind of discount they'll offer?

      • Sorry, no. You can have a look at their Facebook page, might have more info.

  • Has anyone managed to get any? I keep persisting with them!

  • Anyone in Vic seen any on sale around size 12-13? I've had no luck yet.

    • For what it's worth Kalgoorlie WA have size 12 and 13 in stock . Well they did 2 days ago as I picked up another pair as they had another 25% off sale shoes. Also used the $20 credit I received when last time so ended up paying $130. Give them a ring and they may send them to your local store.

      • Thanks a lot buddy. A well deserved bargain on your end.

  • is the promotion still on? me after size 9…
