It is a great price however, the old t60 series has some unlisted issues and comes with an old intel express chipest. so didn’t go wrong buying the t61 which is a much more solid and well revised model.
this model came through the reseller channel about three months ago it didn’t sell every well, so they are just dumping the price. good buy if you are looking for a desktop replacement and something you can take around when need to.
ah ok. thanks for that info. i had no idea about the t60 issues but then again, i wasnt thinking about buying a t60 when i bought my t61.
By the time you add a DVD writeable, wireless networking and 1GB,
it hits the $2000 mark.
I think HP 6720S is a better deal. HP 6720S has newer Core 2 Duo T7250 (Santa Rosa) with 800MHz FSB with the better specs than this Lenovo. The HP comes with DVDRW, Wireless and everything.
HP 6720S is currently on special at CentreCom for $1199 in-store pick up. Also based on my own experience when buying laptop at centrecom, when you buy it at the store you can ask the sales guy and he might throw in some goodies for you, maybe you will even get a carry case for free or some USB key or a mouse.

without adding anything this is a good deal because of the 3 yr warranty. but having a closer look i didnt realise it didnt have wifi!!!
