    Anything worth watching?

    • +3

Sons of Anarchy if you like motorcycles and country music and good ol' US style drama.

      • SOA is on US Netflix. Just finished watching the final season.

    • -1

      Check the wiki ;)

  • +1

    does it need CC?

  • -1

do Presto have a free cancellation policy? like netflix and stan?

      • +2

thanks saved me typing it… ;)

        • +4

You will be charged $0.00 per month for the first 6 months, then $14.99 per month there after.Subscription fees will automatically apply at the end of the bonus period, unless your account is cancelled before the end of the bonus period. You can cancel anytime during the bonus period by going to your Presto settings and selecting ‘Close Account’. If you cancel after your bonus period, your account will be closed at the end of your subscribed month. You can also monitor your billing status through ‘Settings’.

        • +1

@2stroksmokr: hmmm that sounds like you can cancel at the start of the month and the subscription will continue until the expiry date of that month. That's positive because Stan cancels immediately when you press cancel.

        • @Slo20: Netflix cancels at the end of the subscritpion period (not on the day you cancel) too.

        • @Slo20: although I was a bit unclear from the way they phrased it - say you're two months into the six month trial and cancel, will it just work until the end of month two or will it continue for the whole six?

        • @EDIflyer: for that example it will cancel at the end of month two.

        • @Slo20: OK, thanks - have set a reminder to cancel at the start of month 6!

  • +1

Thanks OP, I registered with a card which I am planning to cancel in another 4 months

  • This is not a targeted coupon code?.

  • works fine…. thanks

    • Not working for me - existing account, unpaused my subscription before trying the code:

"The promo code you have entered is not valid. Please check your code and try again. If the error persists, please contact your promotional code provider."

      • +1

If you use Gmail just change your account email address to [email protected]. Once that's done register a new account using your email and apply the code.

  • I see this is a Telstra 6 month free Presto promotion coupon. It could still be a targeted coupon code.

    • +1

      its working fine, not target.

      • -5

Yes but it could still meant to be a targeted coupon code since the deal is meant for Telstra customers.

        • +7

          oh well

        • +1

          @jimbler:

I'll give it a miss any way. Might get a free 3 months Netflix from my Optus Nokia Lumia 530 from Kmart.

  • +63

    Priced about right for Presto.

  • Any link for the program link or movies on this?

  • I tried to match a movie, and got error message

    DRM Error
You are not authorised to view this content.

    Anyone else getting this message?

    • You might be trying to watch content that isn't part of the plan. I think this 6 months free deal is for the base plan. In other words enjoy access to the base plan only free for 6 months.

It would be like trying to watch content on Foxtel that isn't part of the base plan package but you're only subscribed to the base plan. You just don't have access to that extra content.

      • Oh, any idea what is included in Base plan?

        The plan I registered says:

        PRESTO ENTERTAINMENT
Access to endless movie & TV entertainment!
        - 1000’S OF HOURS OF AD-FREE TV SHOWS
        - ENDLESS MOVIE ENTERTAINMENT
        - NO STRINGS ATTACHED

    • When I first trial Presto it was a Silverlight issue. There was a fix on the Presto forums. I think you had to delete a file.

  • +1

Can this stack on an existing promo?

    • +1

I think you can't because if you already on promo I couldn't find anywhere to enter another code.

  • +48

I read this as "free pesto for 6 months" and I was like sweet. I love pasta with pesto.

    • -5

Free Presto for 6 months that's normally $14.95/month.

I notice that Presto doesn't have Game of Thrones. Oh well.

      • +8

What? You didn't get the joke or something?

        • I don't know what the fudge you eat when you watch GoT but you are clearly breaking protocol

      • +2

I read yours as Fresh pesto for 6 months

        • +1

Well, looks like it's pesto for dinner tonight. Thanks for making my choice simple and tasty.

    • So did I and that is why I clicked it…. hahahah

  • +13

Ugh. Tried and discarded this rubbish service. No bookmarking, repeated dropped connection requiring restarting the movie (on NBN). Poor content. Really bad overall.

    • It's true. Although it's free you hardly find the movie or show you like, especially those new ones. And even you found one, the quality (resolution) is so bad. There is no subtitles as well.

  • +5

What's your favourite movie, Richo? Wowee!

    • +1

No one else gets ya :')

      • +1

        I'm used to it…

  • -1

If they really want to get the most out of people trying their service, they need to stop requiring cc and other crap.

    • Yes. They should offer a voucher redemption service.

    • +7

anyone without a cc probably isnt part of the target market

  • does not count towards your telstra home broadband limits =)

    • -3

Yes because the 6 months free is only meant for Telstra customers.

It could be a targeted coupon code that they forgot to make a once only redemption and they might close all accounts that redeemed it due to its abuse. You better hope that doesn't happen. But then again it's not as if you people paid any money.

      • +1

        Is that a threat?!

You feeling lucky punk? Well do ya?

        • +7

Sorry but that movie is not available on presto. :D

  • +9

Dammit…I thought it said free pesto…

  • +6

Got this last time around and the platform/player was garbage. Cancelled after 10 minutes.

    • +1

It cancelled straight away as it wouldn't accept my Visa debit card maybe because there's no money in it. :O

    • +4

you're right the platform player is terrible.
      SBS on demand is better!

    • +3

Yeah I had a 3 month code and cancelled it in a day. Hardly anything to watch and the one thing I did try watching was shocking quality and had issues playing (I have NBN and Netflix and Stan play fine in HD).

Presto is absolute garbage and it won't surprise me if they shut it down within a year.

    • Same…I cancelled mine almost immediately, just in case I forgot all about it in 6mths time & accidentally let it auto renew!

We have half a dozen various stock Android devices in the house & not a single one was supported by the app/player! Piss poor Presto! :/

    • Yeah I had the 2 months free offer and cancelled before the first month was up.

  • How do you stream to your TV? Is there an Android app or something?

    • Probably need a media player device which supports Presto. Don't know which ones do though. Presto compatibility support is kind of lame. Most media player devices support Netflix though.

      • Thanks. Just found the android app. It's got a very low rating

        • That android app probably only allows the videos to be streamed to the Android phone/tablet. Not sure how you'd be able to show it on a TV.

        • @hollykryten: Chromecast or a HDMI cable?

      • If it's not on PS4 or WD TV live, I ain't paying for it or using it.

    • +4

There's an Android app with Chromecast support. Doesn't work on rooted devices though (even with RootCloak) so I'm rooted.

      • +1

So it supports Chromecast. Well there you go. Though no good if you don't already have the Chromecast device.

        • +1

$40 is a small price to pay for a device that supports Netflix, Stan, Presto, BBC iPlayer, YouTube, Plex, and hundreds of other apps.

        • The chromecast counts toward the number of devices registration to the account. It's pretty Sh*te that it needs 2 devices to watch it on TV and they only allow max 4 registrations to an account.

      • Ok, that's great. I've got a Chromecast

        • Unfortunately there's a known bug where shows will frequently have sound but no video, over Chromecast. No fix in the pipeline either, Presto have been asked.

  • I got a three month coupon a few weeks back, seems alright, although I was only watching it because netflix was down :)

  • +1

Some people have been able to redeem previous trial promo codes despite not being the targeted customer. This is the longest I've seen, good post OP.

I have presto. There's not as much on there to watch as Netflix and I find constant errors on the iPad app. Will cancel when my trial is up. Let me know if you want me to check for any content anyone.

  • +2

Found Stan to have a better, newer, more current and larger range of TV shows/Movies compared to Presto.

  • Signed up, video wont play, looks like it will, it just never streams

    • +9
    • -5

      Try kodi with fusion ;)

Google it you will never pay for streaming ever again.

Hence why I would never use presto or Netflix ever just thought Id share the code for those who might

      • +1

Not sure why your opinion was negged.

        • -1

Clearly they negged because they don't know how to use google…. They all got stuck at the Google it part and thought I was talking Sh&)$&

Or they don't know how to read through a tutorial and install a program to stream everything for free…. Nubs

        • +2

I assume because it is promoting illegally streaming content without paying for it.

        • @Ballsdeep:

Now that there are actually options at a decent price and decent quality like Netflix, stealing is kinda lame.

        • @dazweeja:

yes because we should all pay a company for something that is out there for free…..gotcha!

        • @Ballsdeep:

Yes, of course. Some of these TV programs cost millions to make per season. If you enjoy them, pay the people who made them. Then they get paid for their hard work and they can continue making shows for you to enjoy. It's pretty simple really.

If a company is being excessively greedy or it's not available to you through legal means, it might be a different story (I'm a bit flexible here myself) but that's not the case with content that is on Netflix.

        • @dazweeja: your argument would be valid if the Australian Netflix store had all the content that the U.S. store has…. You yourself probably use a VPN which in turn means you aren't getting your bang for buck and have to stream your content from a different continent.

        • @Ballsdeep:

I use Getflix to access Netflix US content. It's not illegal and I'm paying for the content. The Netflix web pages come from the US but the video itself is streamed from Netflix content nodes located in Australia. A VPN is inferior (to Smart DNS like Getflix) for this purpose because with a VPN the video too would be coming from the US.

I get perfect quality and no buffering. Great bang for buck.

    • Had that problem on my ipad, got stuck on the loading symbol. Works after resetting my ipad… between each episode of a tv show and sometimes during!

  • Not targeted. Worked fine for me.

    • +1

"Worked fine for me" and Presto…
Seems like a contradiction in terms. ;)

  • +4

I read OP's username and then misread 'Promo' as 'Porno'. I think I need to get laid

    • Now, if it was a free porno code for pesto? Brother, I would be there!

      • Pesto porn?

  • thanks OP. looks like it went thru. now to just get it working via the Set Top Box.

  • Just me or you cant select any R-rated shows when you create the account ?

    • +1

If you have an ipad you can unlock it there. Yeah makes no sense.

    • +1

I think there are no R-Rated shows to begin with…

  • +1

I have almost 3 years worth of Netflix US/Global subscription after buying all those Optus phones. I would not even look at Presto even if they give me 3 years free.

    • Any idea if its OK to use the same details to register multiple Optus phones and still receive the codes? Wife bought two and we've only received one code so far.

      • +1

I bought 4 phones with the same details and got all 4 vouchers. If you don't get the other one, more than a few days after the first, call optus to get them to sort it out.
