my first post!

saw this on the Officeworks website - it's the newer version of the My Passport pocket hard drives (the Essential range) from Western Digital (smaller, looks slightly better).

For some reason, the blue one is $129, whereas the other colours (black/white/red) are all $179 for the 500GB version (the older version is there for $129 in assorted colours). Windows 7 is supported, also Mac compatible (needs formatting).

Says online only - the one I bought is on backorder, although I noticed my card has already been charged…

      yes i know - the older version of the WD hard drive is also cheaper - but this is about the latest and greatest WD drive!

    they've been selling these instore for $129 for about a month now… i bought one there about 4 weeks ago…

    They did it to price match DSE sale, and kept it at that price…

      from what i can tell, the previous $129 price was for the older version of the hard drive - not the latest and greatest version. this newer version looks more sleek, is smaller, has more security features, and also explicitly supports windows 7.

      who else is doing this price on the NEW version?? i've not been able to find it anywhere else. yes i know everyone is doing this price on the OLD version, and yes i know there are plenty of other cheaper drives out there…

      the point of this post was to alert people to the new version of a quality hard drive at a low price!

      you're a tough crowd to please!
