Don't often see deals worth contributing, but I went to IKEA to buy the Ladda charger to charge NiMH Chevron batteries from the recent Big W deal. Well it turns out they are clearing out the 8 packs of batteries for even less.
Was $19.99.
AA batteries are 2000mAh and the AAA are 750mAh. Of course they aren't low self discharge batteries but they will do the job for me.
No idea if this applies for other IKEA stores, but this family pack doesn't show up on the website so perhaps this product is being cleared out.
Submitting from my phone so hopefully the post is ok.

+1 for first post not mentioning Eneloops ;)
Yep, I totally avoided that word in case you hadn't noticed. They aren't made in Japan etc but they're 50c each for crying out loud.
Eneloops
How can that word not be mentioned on OzB
@googleyahoo69: eneloops4life :P
dude! first rule of Eneloop Club.
wizzfizz, did they have the half-silver half-green low self discharge ones in stock?
Don't think so… Only the alkaline and these ones
Didn't realise they had LSD batteries..
CHEAP AS
I just bought 2 packs at 6 dollars a few weeks ago :(
Can anyone please confirm if any of the two Sydney stores have them?
Just checked the Rhodes store today. They had the 4pk $5.99 ones, that might've been LSD. No 8pk, no $3.99.
How much is the Ladda charger? Is it better than the Chevron one on clearance at BigW?
It's $20. Others here will know more than me but if you google it it gets very good reviews as a value charger from the battery geek sites. Only issue seems to be there is only one indicator LED that only goes green when all batteries are charged.
I would have bought a cheaper Nitecore charger from gear best or somewhere like that but I want the charger for a trip in a few weeks and I don't think I would have gotten it delivered in time.I don't know for sure but I would say it should be much better than the Big W charger. That one seems too cheap.
This one can charge single batteries; the Chevron one, I'd guess, charges a minimum of 2 at a time. Yes, it's better, but only if you need to be able to charge single cells.
This might be a stupid question but am I right in assuming I can charge these with my eneloop charger?
yes
Sweet thx just wanted to double check.
do Sydney stores have the same deal ?
Rhodes one only has 4pk ($5.99). Unless they put it somewhere else and lied when I asked, in which case I'd be rather annoyed.
In my experience the Ikea batteries are pretty decent
