I predict a server crash.

Only members of Jetstar’s Jetmail e-mail registration program will be offered the ultra-low fares.

The fares will only be offered on eight Jetstar routes.

The tickets are also for travel in the low winter season, more than six months away and on selected flights on the low-peak Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday daytimes.

The five cent tickets also entail a $2 credit card fee for people booking over the internet.

Summary: Cut-price airline Jetstar has been put on notice to treat its customers better or face possible action under the Fair Trading Act.

Don’t get too excited. I know someone who works there and they just told me that the booking system is down and unlikely to be working by 7pm.

That’s not just internet bookings either … call centre staff use the same booking system that is routed through the website interface.

It says on the Jetstar website, “only accessible from your sale jetmail”. Hence, you can only access the sale from a link in an email delivered by Jetstar, not directly from the website.

hmh I got into Jetstar web smoothly but I haven’t got their email yet!

What a surprise! Based on earlier offers based on you needing the email it took HOURS to get the email. Some got it after the promo ended!! Their mailing list is bound to be huge so very few people will get it at 7pm. You’ve got to hope someone posts the link here.

If someone’s desperate enough for a fare they could try the phone centre and say the website is down - give it a shot!

Any chance they don’t count in the Daylight Saving Time? Hence, the SALE starts at 8PM?

i read somewhere that this price is only available online, and not through phone centre.. but no harms calling them.

getting the message:
method not allowed

Anyone got any tickets? I went to the link from Bargain4U but it just asked me to tell it my schedule. Didn’t offer cheap flights or a discounted rate from Melbourne to Hobart.

Possibly I’m rushing too much and didn’t see what to click on … ?

Yup, server is screwed. Man they’re pathetic. Don’t waste your night and wait for Tiger’s next bargains (with a server that doesn’t go down) due later this week.

The link for this bargain doesn’t even work :S We either need to fix this one and delete mine, or start talking over there as it has the working links.

Why would Jetstar do this? Surely it doesn’t make them look good … I don’t know if chasing cheap tickets would make me interested in looking for other flights from Jetstar or Qantas … puzzled

I’ve got cut-price airfare rage!!

I got the link from whirlpool, and after numerous error messages and refreshing the page umpteen times I was in the process of choosing flights at 8:30pm when we got hit with a blackout due to thunderstorm. At that time I still hadn’t received my email from Jetstar. It seems to have been rather disorganized from that point of view.
