  • Been waiting for a cheap small SD card for the $19 Nokia 530. Dedicated Here map GPS here I come. Thanks OP.

  • +1

I thought these were cheap at $5 a couple of weeks ago!

    • +3

Yes, $5 in TA last deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/202094

May be he can get onto one of the REPS and organise a deal for $3 delivered

      • +1

I'm not sure if HN will negotiate with professionals

  • Some are still showing as $8

    • +2

      Refer to first sentence.

  • -3

Class 10 hasn't been reduced, asking on chat atm.

EDIT: Rep is claiming this deal isn't legit.

"Ive seen the snapshot, but where has that actually been taken from>? A snapshot on Ozbargain without a legitimate origin isn't so credible …"

"Are you claiming the poster is lying? Surely as a rep you should be aware of all current deals your company is running."

"Prices are valid from 20/7, just like it says on the Ozbargain node
the node has incorrectly indicated it runs until Monday 20/7, but its in fact from 20/7"

"Ha! All other products have been reduced to $4. The slower Class 4 card has also been reduced to $4. Let me guess, the Class 10 image used in the ad was a a mistake."

How many times have you been into a HN store and get BS from their staff? Same thing happening again.

If you want the source then it's in today's Herald Sun, Daily Telegraph, etc. I know which source I would trust.

Match up the product numbers in the advertisement to those on the website. The full advertisement says " hot prices - ends Monday"

Hi PainToad, just wanted to confirm a few details:

      Thanks and regards,
KF - HN Customer Service Team

      • Thanks rep. If a store is showing out of stock online, will the deal still be honoured if you go in to a store a place an order? I know HN are generally very good and honour their sales as long as you order within the sale date.

      • +2

That's a class 10 SD card. In the photo of the ad there is a class 10 MICRO-SD card.

        Ie. this should be $4:
        http://www.harveynorman.com.au/sandisk-ultra-micro-sdhc-8gb-…

Or did Hardly Norman mess up the ad?

Edit: I see the price does update to $4 after adding to cart.

      • Hey HarveyNorman,

Any reason the Macbook 12 has never appeared on the website since the product has been launched?
Any upcoming (10% off) Apple sales? (Although I do note a free apple tv & $50 at present, but I need neither of those).

      • I ordered mine on the day and even now, weeks later, it hasnt arrived.

    Chat log just now:-
Client: I see in todays daily telegraph that the SanDisk Ultra micro SDHC 8GB Memory Card is on special for $4 but I can't find that price on the web site…

REP: those are just being updated as we speak.

    8:27 am
SanDisk Ultra micro SDHC 8GB Memory Card the price will soon be $4 as advertised

  • +4

If you add to your cart it now shows $4

  • +2

Very very nice. Another 20% saving over this. Who doesn't love competition. Thank you unity :)

    • +5

And as i said above we are now waiting for you to weave your magic and bring us a $3 deal

  • +3

This is so cheap I'd actually be embarrassed to go to OW to price beat lol

    • +1

Do it! HN is again testing our professionalism.

    • +2

I did it. Six for $22.80 after price match.

  • -1

    nothing USB3?

  • +1

Typical.. no stock at my store.

    • HN usually take back orders, but you will have to go in store.

      • Nah they're pretty iffy about that and will only do the full price. Considering they got the largest fine from the ACCC a while back you'd think they would be better.

      • +2

You can order online and do click and collect even from stores with no stock

        • You're right. Thanks!

    • My local HN hide them away everytime, you will see them back on shelf once the sale
      finishes.

  • If only you could duct tape these 8GB microSDs together and get 64GB or something more useable.

  • +8
    • Still show $7.97 for me on the OW site

      • Literally just updated to $4 right now

  • +1

Awesome! Didn't need ANY but bought 3!

    • -1

I bought them for $5 a week ago at OW. Still haven't opened them. Oh well, I don't care.

    • Bought 5, didn't need any. CONSUMERISM!

  • Thanks OP, The SanDisk Ultra micro SDHC 8GB's will be perfect for my RPI 2's and for testing purposes.

  • Didn't buy them last deal, finally bought a a few :)

  • i bought 2 microsd cards last week at $5 each but they were delayed. picked them up yesterday and today its $4?! =S

  • 32gb ultra SDHC for $24 too, not too shabby, ordered an 8gb ultra micro and the 32gb sd.

Might not be the cheapest about, but if you are click and collecting some 8GBs anyway…

    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/sandisk-ultra-32gb-class-10-s…

edit - TA just posted an Extreme for that price …

    • +2

Well I have to report a good experience overall. Ordered Friday, and hadn't got email confirmation that I could click and collect from my local store. Store showed stock when I ordered. So i went down today and spoke to the guy at the camera counter, got the 8GB micro i'd ordered off the shelf, and they were out of the 32GB SD. But the micro SD 32GB was in stock, so they just gave me one of them at the same price.

I dont know how many people just pay the full HN price on these - the 32GB micro SD ultra was marked at $64.95 in store!

  • I missed them for $5, and was going to settle for one at $8, but I open the page today and they're $4! I bought two, and I also grabbed The Last of Us for $18. :D

  • What's difference between 'ultra' and 'extreme'?

    • +1

It's the write speed of the card - ultra are about 30mb/s (30 meg per second) while the extreme cards are a little faster (about 45mb/s). Careful though, as one of them is marked extreme but is the same speed as the ultra cards.

The extreme pro cards - good for cameras with high megapixel counts and fast shutter speed per second (burst) - do about 95mb/s. Again, more expensive.

The ultra cards, at $4 for 30mb/s are good for general cameras and other purposes - I grabbed a couple to dump music onto for my car, which has an SD input in the stereo.

  • I just went into OW looking for the Sandisk 8gb ultra micro SDHC U1 30mb/s to match HN and found the new 48mb/s version at $4. It has the (10) instead of the [U] on the card. Shelf said $8 but the guy scanned it $4 and said he had a tonne of price match tickets to put out.

  • I just did a write speed test on these Cruzer Edge USBs.. my stick got overtaken by a snail.

Read speed was ok, around 20MB/s which is good enough to put a Windows installation onto it.

  • Is anyone waiting to pick up theirs from HN? We ordered on the first day, got an email soon after about collection being delayed and we're still waiting for it. When I check the store site online it says it is out of stock.

    • I am as well, ordered friday too, chose delivery as I added a couple of other things including the Trend Micro and am still waiting.

  • Gee wizz guys, my two 8GB MicroSD cards arrived today (and my copy of The Last of Us) and they're not what I expected. I received two 16GB cards + adapters for the bigger SD cards instead! :D

    • +2

      nice score!

  • I'm still waiting on mine. It says 'backordered'. I hope they dont cancel.

  • Still waiting

    • I emailed them about mine after a week using their online form and they got onto it fairly quickly, received the newer version too so pleased with that.
