  • Awesome price on the DC to DC convertor. Superb for running electronics in the car!

  • would the step down converter work for an american plug for the appliance i bought off amazon?

That's AC, this is DC. The one you want can kill you if you dont understand it. This one will be a lot trickier to kill yourself with.

You need a STEP UP transformer. They are not cheap.

If the device you want to power has a "black box" power supply, kinda like you get on a laptop then read the label at the back of it. Chances are, it will be a SWITCH MODE power supply and will already take American 110v AC anyway. If that's the case, just buy a new lead for it, the one it has is probably removable.

If none of the above is true, seek specialist, in person advice from a professional before you kill someone

      • Yeh, jay car wanted like $50 for one that said it could use foreign plugs, which is double the price of the waffle maker…

Oh well, no waffles for me :(.
        Thanks for the advice :)

        • A friend went through exactly what you did, se got lucky and wa able to borrow a suitable inverter. Unfortunately you're stuffed :-( suggestion, dismantle your maker, just use the metal bits, "bake em" in an oven to heat them, then pop on a hob to bake them
