        • 1024x768 resolution is HD

@bargainhunter: 1024x768 is all but useless for most video - don't buy it. Hi-Def should be 1280x720 (720p) or Full Hi-Def 1920x1080 (1080p or 1080i). 1024x768 is the wrong ratio.

  • think target has a 101cm full HD rank arena TV for $799 but the stats weren't great if I recall

  • This is an everyday price.

    • Wrong! Everyday price is $998

      • Wrong. The price was rolled back two to three weeks ago — it's a permanent price adjustment.

  • Good price if it's a LCD. But for plasma it's not that good. -ve for wrong title.

  • All those stating that it isn't a good deal, please enlighten us where we can find a 42inch HD plasma for this price?

    • It's not a HD Plasma. It's a 1024x768 plasma… Yes, technically that may fit the definition of HD, but in reality, it's just not the right ratio for anything widescreen.

Kind of like saying "everyone who says this car isn't a good deal…" to a rowboat…

    • It's a good, big TV for that price, and I don't think anyone's refuting that. What others are stating is that it's a better idea to spend a few hundred more (or go for a slightly smaller screen). i.e. What's the point in getting "HD" when you're not really getting "HD" at all?

  • For those interested, there are a plethora of these at every store. Smaller stores have somewhere between 80-100, with larger stores receiving upwards of 200.

  • why would u buy these brands they won't be as good quality as sony samsung panasonic yeee?

    • +1

      …because they're cheap.
