How did you fit in that for your wedding?

        :P

Can't wait to try my hand at a terrarium though. Sounds fascinating.

        • bit late but i used it for a giftbox/wedding card box

people come in. sign the registry, lift the lid and drop in their wedding card

  • Looks good, thanks OP.

      A terraria based terrarium?

Nice .. might have to modify for jerky/biltong box

    • biltong box…never heard of this word before.

      • +1

Cured meat that originated in South Africa. Jerky is better though IMO. Basically using the box to dry meat.

I see you've never dated a South African girl then…

Thanks OP, that'll keep the possums away from my herbs

  • That's it, I'm moving to the eastern states! Ikea Adelaide / Perth always miss out on these stuff.

  • It's a pretty good deal at $20!

Can this be used to grow…. Er… "tomatoes"?

    • +2

i believe they can but only ever seem to flower without producing fruit.

      • +1

Is that because bees or pollinators can't access them?

        • yes - that must be the case

    • Depends on lighting

    • That's why I bought one. This will raise them inside nicely during winter, and they'll be the right size to pop outside when the frosty weather is over.

      Thanks OP!

  • These look great to put figurines in, great find!

  • Is this instore only or can you ship to an Eastern States address?

It's good to see house prices starting to decline.

Just been to Richmond store. Their website says they have about 600 of them. At present they are maintaining one pile at the bottom of the stairs after the restaurant, and a smaller pile close to the checkouts. The "max 2 per customer" limit has been removed (crossed out on signs) and I bought three without problem.

Having put one together now, they're pretty good for $8, but I wouldn't spend $20 full price on them. The frame on many pieces was a bit bent (very thin metal) - but easy to bend back into shape. Most importantly, the walls don't lock into the base, so you can't easily move it around without the walls popping out (the walls lock together as a unit, but just sit in the base tray).

    • did you get most of yours to click down all the way into place ? I have four to assemble and am still trying to get the outer long walls to click down the last half centimeter

      • Yes, I got them all down, but it took some careful force.

Check whether they actually need to go the full length of the slot — perhaps the bottom of the wall is already level with the adjacent wall and the slots are just at the wrong height?
