    Is this one of these things where you have to somehow pretend you're in the US to get these prices? Or can you just sign up from Australia, use an Australian credit card and buy them? I gotta admit, under $10 for some of these makes them tempting.

      I bought mine using my Steam account with Aussie address, using an Australian credit card, with no problems.

      Downloading it through Internode off-quota, using Frey's Steam Filter too!

      But do keep in mind that the prices are in USD (I think you can change it to AUD in Steam itself, but I'm not at home so can't verify)

        You can't change it to AUD. But the deals are already tailored for AU so you should be able to buy them easy. However we seem to be missing out on some deals. For eg. The Valve Complete Pack for US$75, which is a huge bargain.

        That's because it catalogues games from the US and UK steam store in addition to the Australian one.
        (Many games have different pricing between countries).
        You can filter out only the Steam AU games at the top of the page too.

    Just be careful with GTA4. The game is a badly ported PC game. You'll need a powerful computer rig to run it nicely.

        I bought GTA4 when it came out. To run it in high res you need a LOT of video memory. I went out and bought a GTX 260 896MB for that reason. 512MB is probably OK. 256MB might be harsh. The more the better.

        Part of the complaints about it being a bad port were due to a lot of initial performance problems that were mostly sorted out with subsequent patches.

        I'm not sure GTA4 did that well on the PC though, which might endanger future PC GTA releases. I sure hope not becuase it's my favourite game and I'm not going out and buying a console.

          It has nothing to do with your graphics card really… its gta's developer's fault for porting it as a emulation of xbox… you can imagine running a high graphics requirement game with a emulation…

          in fact, the latest patch that was out will fix most of the issue~ or if you have a P4 and "accidentally" bought the game, you can still tweak it until it's playable… I believe the biggest problem of the game(v1.0) is the mist/fog that they overuse in the game. My 8600M gfx card could run it by just patching it to the newest patch… So I don think there will be a problem.

            It also has nothing to do with emulating an xbox game..

            If you compare how it looks like on the xbox and you look at it on PC, it doesn't run badly IMO.

            There have been no real performance improvements that help everyone except for adding in extra settings so you don't have to manually turn shadows etc off.

            Either they are extremely lazy and are not interested in real performance tweaks, or my guess, the way they have made the game requires a powerful computer, just look at Crysis.

            I was going to buy this today, but I think the DLC's that get released will cost a lot of $$$, so i'm going to pass as this turns a $9 AUD game into potentially $30 AUD or more. Its hard to find info on how much it will cost or if it will be free.

              @samfisher5986: I am sorry if I give misleading info~ remember reading sth about the game runs a xbox emulator and run the game inside it… or it might be my imaginary frd that gave me the info…

              but my point is, if you dont patch the game… not many people could play it~ that is why I blame them, and you are right about the setting, but it is also the settings that gets the game laggy and gives a awesome graphics card 10-20 fps…( their intention to make you go emo)

              anyway, if you do not need nice graphics to entertain you, this pc version will save you money for buying a ps3 or xbox360 just for this game…

                the xbox has similar graphics to having most of the settings on low. PC for most people will almost always look better.

    FYI anyone thinking of the Company of Heroes complete back.

    Was just at Chadstone for their 24 hour shopping thing (goddamn it was crowded, despite being 2.30am in the morning).

    EB had the complete pack for $70 – 50% = $35.

    Cheaper than Steam, AND you don't have to DL anything.

    Tomb Raider Legends was also cheaper, at $10 for the box (compared to $13ish on Steam).

    Already played CoH so I didn't bother with it. Tempted on Legends though, it's still lying in my cart.

        Yeah, the steam version of CoH is a lot more convenient and it downloads everything for you…instead of having to install like 5 patches yourself.

    i set up an entropay account already. wouldn't work for the uncensored versions. i ended up buying the censored version because i found a way to bypass the censorship. 100% uncensored.

      Did you buy it yesterday or today? L4D2 is 33% off today instead of 25% off. Lucky I didn't get it.

      I heard you can bypass the censorship but it turns off Steam achievements.

    I just bought L4D2 from the uk steam site. Confirmed it works with commbank mastercard. Just changed country to UK and that's it. Didn't mention anything about incorrect address. Downloaded and it's the uncensored version.

    fattyman, when you go to manage steam gifts, do your L4D2 gifts have an (AU) next to the name?

    Oh and if anyone is going to buy Borderlands, try and get it on the UK steam site cause the price is way cheaper. 20 pounds which is about $36 AUD, as opposed to $53.59 USD normally which is about $60 AUD.
