AmEx CC Offer at Hardly Normal and Price Match in General

Just wondering as I got an invite to buy things at HN on my AMEX cc and get bonus points, does HN price match, eg The Good Guys etc?

    When HN is involved, u can be almost certain it is not a genuine bargain.

      Once got a phone and smart watch on price error.
      Hardly normal ended up paying me $80 to have the watch after I sold the phone hehe.

      But that was the only real bargain I ever saw there.
      When I was desperate i bought a wireless network card once there, 30% above RRP.
      Only shop I ever saw anything above RRP.

      But thanks for the watch Gerry, much appreciated:)

    • Really? I've gotten good deals in the last year;

      My laptop (with two lexmark all-in-one printers) $225 after cashbacks & $50 AMEX credit

      My phone $146 after Coles gift card

      • Yes, all those stores are competitive and price match anyway.

  • The obvious answer is that HN price matches and you are right, it's not rocket surgery.
    I'm looking at a washing machine - need a new one. So, for $700, get the 700 points plus 2500 points. Only useful if you need something.

      Buy the same washing machine through appliances online (mostly they are cheaper if not price match again) go to their ebay store through velocity frequent flyer website to get 2 x points on your velocity account on top of the 700 points on your CC. Appliances online do free delivery and free removal of your old washing machine. The difference in bonus points is easily offset by the free delivery!

  • Good point and I do like the points. However, I read that AO do not actually install and I'm not gonna be able to do that myself, esp if its an expensive machine (which AO may not sell anyway?) When I bought a Miele for a relo in SYD a few years ago, Miele sent their own guys to ensure it was a proper install and balance and all that. HN does price match AO too as I understand and do the install. I'm off to check QF and VA via their mall portal, thanks for th reminder.
